Attaching my hexipuffs | Knit three together

https://knitthreetogether.wordpress.com/2013/10/17/attaching-my-hexipuffs

Knitting for the family, inspired by the world…. When I brought my latest batch of hexipuffs up to the attic, I realized that there were 100 in the bottom drawer of our cedar chest. While that’s only a quarter of the quilt complete, it was already an intimidating pile. How would I ever find the patience to sit there and attach 400? The puffs I’ve attached so far. I did a little bit of research into alternative methods for attaching the puffs, and really liked the method demonstrated in this video:. I rea...

Spring socks in fall | Knit three together

https://knitthreetogether.wordpress.com/2013/11/14/spring-socks-in-fall

Knitting for the family, inspired by the world…. Spring socks in fall. There’s no denying that winter is on its way here. Fortunately, the first frost has been late, and I was able to scatter crocus bulbs around in our front and back gardens, late last month. This is our first fall in a house and it’s been exciting for us to go through all the rituals of the seasons in our first real family home. Toe-up Socks for Everybody. To take my mind of the grey November weather. This entry was posted in Knitting.

I took at finishing class! (and finished something) | Knit three together

https://knitthreetogether.wordpress.com/2013/07/04/i-took-at-finishing-class-and-finished-something

Knitting for the family, inspired by the world…. I took at finishing class! A few weeks ago, I took a finishing class at a not-so-local yarn store. I am self taught for most finishing skills (seams, picking up stitches, weaving in ends). Since, I’m pretty good at following youtube videos and making things look tidy,. I never knew what I didn’t know. It took a suggestion. My cap sleeve lattice top in Cascade Ultra Pima. I was drawn to the Cap Sleeve Lattice Top. This entry was posted in Knitting. I really...

Fixing the fit: my cable back shell | Knit three together

https://knitthreetogether.wordpress.com/2013/10/10/fixing-the-fit-my-cable-back-shell

Knitting for the family, inspired by the world…. Fixing the fit: my cable back shell. Cable back shell in Dream in Color Baby (Ruby River). I’ve been knitting more sweaters and tops than usual lately, but have often found myself a little disappointed with the finished product. This is most often an issue of fit, so I’m really happy to show off my latest finished top: the Purl Bee’s Cable Back Shell. The simple but interesting cable back. Like the other Laura’s Loop pattern I knit,. October 10, 2013.

Planted! | My Kitchen Cooking

https://mykitchencooking.wordpress.com/2013/03/25/planted

A place to play with food. Asymp; 1 Comment. Today was a great day; this morning I woke up and finished a great book I’ve been devouring for the past few days, “Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend”. By Matthew Dicks, went for a short walk, and the best part of today? Assembled my light garden and planted some seeds! They are now sitting nicely under the light, and hopefully lots of germinating magic is happening. The first thing to do was put together the light garden. Now to ready the soil. This is the g...

Seeds | My Kitchen Cooking

https://mykitchencooking.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/229

A place to play with food. Asymp; Leave a comment. I picked up my seeds the other day! I thought oregano was in there, but apparently not. Oregano’s something I use a lot, so I might have to pick up some seeds, but that’s it! I’m very excited about the different kinds of carrots, as the only carrots that I knew existed were orange ones. So eating a purple or white carrot will be an experience. Hopefully a wonderful one. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

A place to play with food. Asymp; Leave a comment. Back in Korea there was a restaurant that everyone in the expat community called “The Buddhist Restaurant.” Now, this was not its name, and I don’t know if it was actually Buddhist or not, though many of the dishes were temple inspired. At this restaurant there was a side dish that me and one of my friends went nuts over. It was a sesame tofu steak. Having a great time and becoming healthier. Block firm Tofu (non-GMO and organic). 1 TB minced garlic.

The Sheep in the Looking-Glass. Mostly about knitting, with a bit about knitting in history. Stash Enhancements from Die Woll-Lust. July 16, 2013. I said I would show and tell from my visit to Die Woll-Lust. On my trip to Berlin. One of the things I particularly liked about the shop was the way the colours were arranged. Everywhere I looked there were enticing juxtapositions of colours. I was drawn to these gorgeous hanks of Filace Seta Cash. In shades of mauves and greys. This yarn, Filace Setmo. It&#82...

In an earlier post I wrote about buying yarn in Florence. I’ve just spent five days on a short holiday in Berlin and although I spent most of my time in the fabulous museums and art galleries (and the fassbender and rausch. Aren’t these gorgeous? A clever touch – there is a comfortable bench outside to park waiting spouses! What a lovely store!

My blog it isn’t about knitting, it’s about me. I realize that were already two weeks into the new year; but the theme of my life seems to be a day late and a dollar short, so it fits. 2008 was an interesting year for me. It was a year of personal accomplishments - more so than in any other year - within the last five at least. However, judging from my blog, not much went on at all, I hope to remedy that in 2009 and chronicle my life and crafty goings on more consistently. Notable happenings in 2008:.
