Knitting a History

My journey while knitting the Irish Cape "Ireland, A Connaught Girl's Story" by Meagheen Ryan as found on Ravelry. Thursday, February 10, 2011. Another snow day yesterday, so extra time to knit. I was able to finish my hood facing and start on the stockinette portion. Still waffling about including any boxes, but I'm leaning toward angels only at the moment. Time will tell. My journey while knitting the Irish Cape "Ireland, A Connaught Girl's Story" by Meagheen Ryan as found on Ravelry. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Why Knit Meggie's Cape? I first heard about this 12-month long Irish Cape project on one of the many Yahoo knitting groups I belong to (it's all Katt's fault! And thought it sounded like a fun challenge. But to commit to knitting 4500 yards of yarn? And a year of knitting? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Why Knit Meggies Cape? View my complete profile.

A Year Long Journey "The Road Less Taken". Saturday, January 29, 2011. The Road Less Taken. I am embarking on a year long journey.over the Road Less Taken. During 2011 I will knitting a cape filled with boxes, cables, bobbles.and who knows what else. This will be a journey of self-discovery. The knitted cape, accompanied by socks, gauntlets, hats and scarves will be a heirloom to be passed down to future generations. Growing up we were told we had Irish blood running through our veins. A Year Long Journey "The Road Less Taken": February 2011

http://lilacs4angels2.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

A Year Long Journey "The Road Less Taken". Wednesday, February 9, 2011. I've been knitting on the facing the first part of a year long journey. I've noticed a feeling of calm and peace as the stitches go from one needle to the other. My mother passed away in 1960 when I was a little girl. Throughout the 50 plus years I have felt her presence from time to time. I know she's watching the knitting I'm doing. I like to believe she'd be proud. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Knitting Again | After putting down the needles, I'm knitting again

Deciding What to Knit, Quick Post. On: September 16, 2012. It has been an incredibly long time since I’ve posted. Life keeps throwing things my way and the blog has taken a back seat. They really like them but I’ve really been wanting to jump into a blanket or make something I can wear. Only one sock was knit. Queue go down once in a while. I was reading something recently that talked a...

Knitting: A husband's point of view

Knitting: A husband's point of view. Thursday, June 19, 2014. Was he poisoned by Beethoven (at the time, the only other classical composer whose name I was familiar with)? Had he run out of ink and when going out to buy some more, had he been run over by a team of oxen? I was on the edge of the picnic blanket, an uneaten chicken leg in my hand as I anxiously awaited the dramatic drop of the conductor's baton. And then . What the heck? Friday, April 25, 2014. EINSTEIN AND THE RELATIVITY OF YARN. Of course...
