The Knitting Mongoose

A small mammal that can apparantly knit. A lot. Thursday, 13 March 2014. Shetland Deathmarch or, with needles to hollow victory. I have three different colours of genuine Shetland Yarn and a lovely Hap Scarf pattern in mind. I have carefully assessed the lie of the land, and ascertained that 3mm needles will be best for the task ahead. Captain Oates has decided to accompany me, as an advanced lace knitter wanting a short rest before a ring shawl in the Canadian Arctic. I am now well used to the pattern, ...

The Knitting Mongoose: Winter knitting frenzy!

http://www.knittingmongoose.blogspot.com/2013/01/winter-knitting-frenzy.html

A small mammal that can apparantly knit. A lot. Wednesday, 23 January 2013. I've got that winter knitter frenzy on at the moment. See snow on the ground? KNIT WARM THINGS like there's an ice age on the way. It's really pretty in real life, bright greens and chestnuts and oranges and dark reds, sort of autumn fireside colours. It's knitting to - I reckon - 5.5 stitches to the inch. Using my Knitter's Handy Book of Knitting Patterns. I hope that all that ish doesn't come back and bite me. Ill be using this...

A small mammal that can apparantly knit. A lot. Sunday, 26 February 2012. Vintage knitting patterns - 'Bedjacket'. Anyway, I've decided to try and knit one of these two patterns as a cardigan for spring and summer. Here's a picture of the one I've chosen. She appears to be preparing to swallow a whole humbug with a finger of scotch. Great days, the 1950's. Minus the ribbon that's a nice little cardigan! Http:/ freepdfhosting.com/0b3f29bb0f.pdf. The Knitting Mongoose: March 2012

http://www.knittingmongoose.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

A small mammal that can apparantly knit. A lot. Tuesday, 13 March 2012. The Measure of Me. So, like many knitters, I keep loosing my tape-measures. They're there one minute, gone the next, even after I switched to my new, handmade and super-spiffy notions purse. I had a nice red retractable dressmakers tape of a very sensible sort, before; it fitted into my super-spiffy purse, it looked normal and sensible. It looked like this -. Sensible. It costs about 90p. So now ask yourself - what did I get? I've tr...

Knitting and Family

Mostly about my knitting and some about my wonderful family. Monday, August 29, 2016. Well alot has happened in the last year and a half. My girls graduated from high school. One turned 18 and ran off to get married which in turn almost caused me to have a nervous breakdown. Both girls have moved into their own homes. They are both CNA's and have full time jobs. I am very proud of them and they are my world. Friday, March 6, 2015. Where Has Time Gone? Oh my where do I begin? Friday, November 11, 2011.

Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Just about Thanksgiving, and am engaged in the mad scramble to get ready. Going to the in-laws, where it is said no one is happy unless someone leaves crying. I used to be the one crying, but thank heavens for the gift of middle age and not caring. I've been working on a sweater for Mom. I'm using woolly-nice Cottage Craft. She's going to love it. Time to Knit | Not enough, or maybe too much.

Not enough, or maybe too much. Bulky Rolled Rim Newborn Hat. Confessions of an Amputee. On April 13, 2017. So I haven’t been posting regularly because I am up and running which has only made my life busier than ever. But who can resist starting a new project, especially with Noro yarn. I am making another sockhead hat. Using sock yarn this hat takes a little bit longer but the end result is worth it. On February 16, 2017. I think I will avoid this pattern in the future. Michigan, Go Blue! On July 17, 2016.

Knitting Mother

Translation: A Mother Who Knits. Monday, June 1, 2009. File under category: "Damn I'm smart". No I'm not being modest at all - DAMN I'm smart! Today I brined two chickens to be roasted in the oven. I needed a v-rack to roast them and I don't own one (nor do I want to buy or store one). When I googled "v-rack homemade" I got an idea for wadding up aluminum foil in the bottom of the roasting pan and placing the chickens on top of that. Didn't like it and didn't want to waste that much foil. I thought A LOT.

Knitting Mouse

The chaos of me and my knitting. Saturday, September 20, 2008. Thank whatever you like to thank for the fact that Summer has broken and it's becoming cooler. This has prompted a few things from me:. 1) More knitting. Barbara's BEAUTIFUL sweater is whipping along. I have almost half a sleeve done. Then it's just another sleeve and it's done. Pretty neat for not knitting on it all summer, eh? And no.it is not the Pewter Coat. We don't speak of that anymore.). After seeing the gal over at sock pr0n. Knittin...
