You want a uke? You want a uke? WWW: On crossover art, sculpture and brainiacs. Devoted Knitty fan, Ilehlia of Ontario, shared the astonishing street art of Ann Arbor’s David Zinn. His art is lively, humorous, engaging and appeals to all ages. Our particular favorite was his homage to knitting:. Knitting on the sidewalk with a flying pig as one does…. Spinning Tuesdays: Dizzing from a Drum Carder | knittyBlog

http://knittyblog.com/2012/05/spinning-tuesdays-dizzing-from-a-drum-carder

You want a uke? You want a uke? Spinning Tuesdays: Dizzing from a Drum Carder. I took a quick drum carding class from Sarah Anderson this winter and one of things she demonstrated was dizzing off of a drum carder. I tried it and it’s fun and easy. Perfect if you love drum carded fiber , but don’t like spinning from batts. You need a drum carder (mine is a Patrick Green Deb’s Delicate Deluxe), a doffer (the pointy ice-pick-looking tool) and a diz (I use buttons. I love buttons). Dizz and doffer ready to go.

Quilting and crafting adventures, with snippets of life outside the sewing room. where I learn something new every day. Monday, September 12, 2011. Cat quilt and a bag. So far, it's more or less just a prototype, so not made out of any fancy fabric. In fact, I've gone green and recycled, using old flannelette pajama fabric for most of it, in pinks and blues:. I've used 12 different prints/plains for the 3" squares. The border is 3" navy flannel. Magazine, vol. 26 no. 7. Measure and mark quilting lines!

I can think of nothing better than getting out needles and yarn, making a cuppa tea and getting stuck into this art form. Sadly I have done both my wrists in knitting too much! MY knitting is my own version of yoga. No "downward facing dog" for me, no sirree, give me a set of needles and a little yarn and I am a happy camper. I a little nuts where knitting is concerned.
