Arts and Fibers: March 2013

http://www.knottyneedleartsandfibers.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 4, 2013. This is where I will showcase what I am creating in different mediums. I am into anything and everything, fabrics, fibers, pens, pencils, markers. You name it, I probably have a bit of it in my stash. Right now most of my stuff is put up, getting ready for my big move. But I do have a couple of knitting projects I am working on at the moment. More about them later. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Rainbow Scrappy Challenge 2016. Farmer's Wife 1930 QAL.

Arts and Fibers: One Block Wonder Started

http://www.knottyneedleartsandfibers.blogspot.com/2013/10/one-block-wonder-started.html

Saturday, October 5, 2013. One Block Wonder Started. With Texter's help, I picked out some fabric for my first attempt at the One-Block Wonder. Jen at Quilter in the Closet. Is leading a QAL for this method of piecing (and is doing a tremendous job). I selected by fabric, but I wasn't really "thrilled" at the choice and came home with doubts as to it's workability, especially after seeing some of the selections on our Flickr group. I cut my triangles out and put them in my box (my attempt to be organized...

Arts and Fibers: December 2013

http://www.knottyneedleartsandfibers.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 28, 2013. Fractured Grinch One Step Closer. Fractured Grinch" was put on the back burner as I made 4 bags for Texter to use for herself and to give as gifts. So since she and Lady K are in the Carolinas visiting family, I am using the time to get the blocks put together. I finished up the blocks and laid them out based on the overall pattern. Technically, to follow the pattern I need 7 more blocks, but I bought the fabric and then decided on the pattern, so I am using the fabric th...

Arts and Fibers: October 2013

http://www.knottyneedleartsandfibers.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 20, 2013. I love The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. It has been my favorite Christmas program for decades and I love his little, bright green self and crooked smile to pieces. So it was not surprising when I walked into one of my LQS and saw a whole row of the Robert Kaufman line of Grinch fabric. That I had to buy some. I didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I HAD TO HAVE IT! Using the Fractured quilt pattern. The more I looked,. The more I spied,. This was the one,. My lighting ...

Food: Dutch Babies or "They Didn't Warn Me"

http://knottyneedlefood.blogspot.com/2014/02/dutch-babies-or-they-didnt-warn-me.html

Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Dutch Babies or "They Didn't Warn Me". I was looking for something 'different' for breakfast the other morning and I had seen this recipe. On a blog I follow and it looked good. The recipe was simple enough and I halved it since I would probably be the only one eating on it. Now all the pictures for "Dutch Babies" come out all golden and FLAT. Mine, however, came out of the oven looking like this. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

KNOTTYNEEDLE: April 2015

http://knottyneedle.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. So I've been bumming a bit. My head knows what needs to be done, but my body is screaming "are you kidding! But there is a little bit of color with this 'challenge' in my world. My job is offering incentives this year for dropping the numbers, which would mean dollars in my pocket at the end of the year. My health, both mental and physical, would be better. Now don't get me wrong. This person/body loves her 'treats' way too much to completely cut things out. I am talking ...And m...

KNOTTYNEEDLE: Week In Review - August 2 - 8

http://knottyneedle.blogspot.com/2015/08/week-in-review-august-2-8.html

Sunday, August 09, 2015. Week In Review - August 2 - 8. It seems everything is on hold for now, just waiting until we can start the move to our new home. The big weeping birch in the front yard of the house came down this week as part of the agreement. However, it seems they have left us a load of wood still in the yard. Hhhmmmm. CJ keeps saying "bonfire" and we keep telling him - no! 42,572 steps or 19.65 miles walked. 1 book read (on a really good one now). 2 rounds on Sophie's Universe is finished.

KNOTTYNEEDLE: Mr. Holmes - Definitely NOT What I Was Expecting

http://knottyneedle.blogspot.com/2015/08/mr-holmes-definitely-not-what-i-was.html

Sunday, August 02, 2015. Mr Holmes - Definitely NOT What I Was Expecting. Ok, first off, let me say that Ian McKellen could fix me scrambled eggs. Any time he wants too. Yes, I know he's gay and I know the odds of him fixing me anything after an intimate moment are far higher than me winning the lottery. But I'm saying I think he's talented and sexy. So. One of the first things which lend themselves to this sense of fragility is when his doctor tells him to put a mark in a diary every day when he can't r...

KNOTTYNEEDLE: March 2015

http://knottyneedle.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. I subscribe to the 'rare-bird-alert' via Cornell Ornithology Lab and received one on Sunday about this goose on a nearby lake. Monday, I had some time on my hands (housework out of the question) and the day was shaping up to be beautiful, so I decided to do a little nature walk before work. They aren't a duck, because they don't have webbed feet. Their feet are 'lobed'. And to take off, they run across the water. Also in the mix were a few American Widgeons and a Northern Shoveler.

Montana Life: July 2013

http://knottyneedlemontanalife.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Montana State Fair in Great Falls. Being a Marine recruiter, Gibbs was required to assist in manning the booth at the State Fair this past weekend. And wanting to see more of what goes on in Montana, Texter, Lady K and I attended the fair twice. The first was opening night (Friday) and the camera ate my pictures. Then we went again on Sunday, both to get more pictures and to see Gibbs. Crowds, or lack thereof, didn't bother Lady K. Jams and Jellies (the whole exhibit). One of the ...

Fifty-two small changes seemed doable. 52 Small Changes - One Year to a Happier, Healthier You by Brett Blumenthal. Did not contain any new, earth-shattering information. Sunday, April 01, 2018. Week In Review - March 25 - 31. It's been an interesting week. Beautiful sunrises. Warmer temperatures (ok, 30's and 40's are warmer than -16! Hints of spring in the air. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Clear the Clutter, Find Happiness. I will be honest for a moment. You will NEVER find me with a pristine home, everything in it's place, passing any kind of white glove test. Ain't happening. So when this little book (it's only 3.5 x 5.5 inches) popped up at the library, I had to sit down with it. How could I not like it, it's a cute little thing. From My Camera

Saturday, February 8, 2014. Pictures from the Bathroom. No, it's not what you think. I had the camera in hand and was loving the way shadows were playing in the bathroom in the late afternoon. My bathroom window is a crinkled glass, so it lets some light in and I can't see out. It is a window that I can crank open and closed, which is a novelty to me. And then the shower has this kind of glass in it. Sunday, November 3, 2013. Sunday, June 30, 2013. This is a flower I took a picture of at the rest stop at...

Friday, October 18, 2013. Yesterday, Texter, Lady K and I had to drive from Helena to Great Falls for Lady K to get her flu shot. The day was gray and drizzly here in Helena and on most of the drive to Great Falls. Texter took the camera or we would have been stopping every few minutes for me to take pictures. So here are a few of Texter's pictures she took on the drive. I like this picture because the bridge over the road in the distance gives you a sense of just how big these 'hills' really are.
