We have also discovered that IκBα actually accelerates the dissociation of NFκB from DNA and we are working to prove that this kinetically-driven process is essential to the rapid post-induction repression of NFκB transcriptional activity Bergqvist et al., 2009. Current work is defining the kinetic mechanism of how IκBα accelerates the dissociation of NFκB as well as exploring the interaction of different NFκB family members with IκB family members.
