It's Durbanville - THREE IN A ROW! Kon-Tiki 2002 - A Scouting Spectacle. Kon-Tiki 2002 was as spectacular as the previous events, with the rafts all depicting the theme, Camelot. The colourful display of rafts as they left the secure mooring of the jetty to Kon-Tiki Bay was awesome to see. The Naruna and Constantia girls came first in the STA competition, joint 4th in the raft construction, and second for the raft meal competition, winning the competition with the highest overall aggregate. The prize for the spectators was to see their reaction when the winners were announced. Yep, the girls had come along and spoilt the boy's party but they did it in style! Well done Naruna and Constantia. You sent everyone a signal last year and this year you saw it through. Keith Anderson - our 2003 VIP.

KON-TIKI ADVENTURE BRINGS A TOUCH OF BRAZIL TO SANDVLEI. Report by Emma Dawson, as appeared in the Constantiaberg Bulletin (Published with permission). Hundreds of Scouts and Girl Guides, from as far as Port Elizabeth and Brazil, converged on Sandvlei this weekend (April 16 to 18) for the 26. The theme for Kon-Tiki 2004 was Brazil in honour of special international guest, Estêvão Salles, who arrived in Cape Town on Wednesday, April 14 to be present at Kon-Tiki and represent the Boy Scouts of Brazil.

The diagram above shows one way of fastening barrels that worked well for my troop. You can double up with a second rope starting at the opposite corners to make it really secure. Apart from the ropes, the spacing of your poles. Is really important to make sure that the barrel sits securely on the raft base. Drawn on iPad Mini.
