Occasionally Interesting Ramblings: April 2007
http://longbeachgringo.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
My chance to rant about the issues of the day. Saturday, April 21, 2007. Check out my Slide Show! Wednesday, April 04, 2007. Talk to the Animals. OK so where does the introspection come in? So where does that leave me in this argument? How do we decide which animal drives we should work to overcome and which we should accept or even enjoy? Why do I embrace my lusty side but reject my violent side? Can we divide these drives into those that bring pleasure and those that bring pain? Check out my Slide Show!

Occasionally Interesting Ramblings: December 2005
http://longbeachgringo.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
My chance to rant about the issues of the day. Monday, December 12, 2005. Come Out of the Kissing Closet! It's time to come out of the kissing closet! That's right. We need to start being physically affectionate IN PUBLIC! Do I mean slurping all over each other? No Nobody likes seeing straight people do that in public. Do I mean holding hands or kissing in places where you're going to get beat up? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). UCSB Protests the Iraq War. Come Out of the Kissing Closet!

Occasionally Interesting Ramblings: May 2006
http://longbeachgringo.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
My chance to rant about the issues of the day. Monday, May 15, 2006. The Real Deal on the Democratic Party. Though I'm registered in the Green Party, my fear of Republicans almost always forces me to vote for Democrats. I'm tempted to say, "As if there were a difference between the two major parties," but let's face it, there is. Then there's Carter. (A good president? But certainly the one president in my lifetime who truly qualifies as a mensch! Remember that polls taken after the Kennedy-Nixon debates...

Occasionally Interesting Ramblings: Why Are We So Out of Touch?
http://longbeachgringo.blogspot.com/2006/09/why-are-we-so-out-of-touch.html
My chance to rant about the issues of the day. Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Why Are We So Out of Touch? And now to get to my point. Americans are so freaked out - and with very good reason - about child abuse, that we carry our caution to extremes and deny our kids the sensual contact that they - and we - need. But what can we do? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). UCSB Protests the Iraq War. Why Are We So Out of Touch? View my complete profile.

http://longbeachgringo.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
My chance to rant about the issues of the day. Friday, January 20, 2006. At what age do these feelings usually start? Is it just my midlife crisis - which began when I was about 30? Anyway, I won't depress you with any more of this. Just something I wanted to get off my chest. Hope to have something happier to talk about next time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My Flushing blog: Great Flushing Expose
http://myflushing.blogspot.com/2011/04/great-flushing-expose.html
Thursday, April 14, 2011. The Times ran an article covering all the insane development going on and coming up in the near future in Flushing. Everywhere you look you see construction, and large new projects. I haven't written in a while, but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to re-amplify the light this article shines on Flushing. One day I may even add some comments and opinion, but in the meantime:. 8220;Flushing is a bridge between China and Korea and the United States.". Posted by Ready Go. Flushin...

My Flushing blog: Snowmageddon's Revenge
http://myflushing.blogspot.com/2010/02/snowmageddons-revenge.html
Friday, February 26, 2010. Wo snow days in one month! This is fantastic. At least for students and offices that were in their right minds to close for the day (sorry city employees). To those who have to work today, all the best to ya! It's kinda nasty out there with poor visibility. Although I'll take this powdery snow to yesterday's sloppy, wetness any day. Warm up some hot chocolate and kick back or bundle up and head out to the park to make a snowman! Posted by Ready Go. Thanks, Nicholas Lohr. Outsid...

Occasionally Interesting Ramblings: Dysfunctional or Typical?
http://longbeachgringo.blogspot.com/2006/09/dysfunctional-or-typical.html
My chance to rant about the issues of the day. Friday, September 15, 2006. Cliff and I went to see "Little Miss Sunshine" this evening, and we found it very touching, very funny and borderline profound. We also agreed that it's a shoe-in when the Screen Actors Guild hands out the award for ensemble acting next year. So here's the problem I have. Every time I hear anything about this film, the person commenting invariably refers to the "dysfunctional" family portrayed therein. Dysfunctional? So while ther...
