On the long, winding way home, I stopped in Pai, an absurd tourist town between Mae Hong Son and Chiang Mai. When I first got here, I was really surprised to see people wielding machetes. Everywhere. They’re just so useful! And here they’re used for two main things: eating coconuts and doing yard work. The machete is first used to chop off edges of the coconut’s outer shell to give it a shape that’s stackable and won’t roll away. Scooping up that coconut.

Lørdag 1. august 2015. Luer og pannebånd til storebror. Tidleg i vår laga eg to nye vår- og haustluer, og eit pannebånd til storebror i huset. Lite visste eg då at dei ville være like aktuelle å bruke midt på sommaren! Storebror er svært glad i traktorar og gravemaskinar. Ja, stort sett alt som har hjul og kan køyre, grave og heise opp engasjerer storebror. Tema for luene vart difor nettopp traktor, medan pannebåndet skil seg ut med musikk som tema.
