Aboard Madrigal: July 2012
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Just a quick update to post a quick picture of the Creekmore's visible progress. Justin finished capping off the lead and has been hard at work with through-hulls, bottom paint, grey-water boxes, and various other projects. Soon we'll be contacting a surveyor to see if we can get this hunk of fiberglass to officially become a boat. Crazy. Friday, July 13, 2012. The first major victory to report is that we now have just over 9000 pounds of ballast in the keel! So many of our projec...

Aboard Madrigal: November 2011

Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Why Living Aboard a Boat with a Baby is Hard Work, or, Why I Spend a Lot of Time in Bed. Living aboard a boat with a baby is hard for a few reasons - one of which doesn't really begin until they begin crawling. Crawling babies get into everything! And when everything is a matter of inches away, they get into everything fast. We've gone to great lengths to try and keep the boat as safe for Ivy as possible, but some of it comes down to just being attentive with her. And then the...

Aboard Madrigal: December 2011
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 26, 2011. Ivy had a blast in the UP. It was great fun all around, and the pictures show it all. We're happy to be back to be with daddy, but we're definitely missing grandma, grandpa, auntie and uncle, and cousin Eli. Happy Holidays everyone! Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Sadly, the blog gets put on hold at times like these - times when we should be writing the most and cataloging our adventures of life. Ah well, so it goes. Madrigal is doing well and keeping us dry and toasty on those few...

Aboard Madrigal: February 2013
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 11, 2013. The boaters reading our blog might not understand it, but I can't stress how much I've missed being out in the woods. It's been wonderful being back in Michigan, getting outside in the peace and quiet every day. Saturday, February 9, 2013. A little photo gallery of what we've been up to. How did we not update you all? I realize that I had a draft of a post from November that never got sent. Huh. But that's not how it works. Michigan means: family. So much family. So there it is...

Aboard Madrigal: October 2011
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 10, 2011. Out for a Stroll. Thus, it has become common language for Jenny and I to use the phrase "go for a stroll" when we want to go with the stroller and leave Willie behind. The language change is just enough to save him the roller coaster of emotions at hearing the word "walk" and then be left behind. Ahh, the difficult life of a dog. Willie, asleep sitting up. Or the giant Graco pieces of junk? Is the gold standard of umbrellas (its amazing what I now know about strollers). But ...

Aboard Madrigal: September 2011
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 16, 2011. Ivy is learning how to crawl now and has been sitting up on her own for about a month now, so we realized it was time to get serious about getting some safety features into the boat. The most important one is some safety netting in the v-berth. It's the safest place for her to crawl around without getting into trouble. Once she pulls herself up, it may not work anymore. I'm not sure. But at least we have something that works now! Thursday, September 15, 2011. Ivy at the Helm.

Aboard Madrigal: August 2011
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2011. The Fury of Storms. Why is it that no one is ever satisfied with a storm? Either the storm is "too small" or "too big", but rarely is it the perfect amount of fury mixed with little damage to satisfy a crowd. Our spot at Thayer's Landing seemed to be quite protected - more so than our friends in Winthrop and Boston who were battered a bit more than us (although I did find out later that Weymouth did see a fair bit of tree damage). We heeled a bit. Ivy entertains us all. I've star...

Aboard Madrigal: February 2012
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Lately we can tell that Ivy has been feeling downright cooped up. Crap. That's totally my fault. I'm a homebody and if it were up to me, I would only leave the marina a couple of times a month, aside from walking the dog, playing outside, etc. And it's rather pleasant now. Hooray! It's been fun for me because I'm re-remembering all of the children's books and authors that I once knew and loved so deeply. It's not like I've forgotten about those books, but some of the det...

Aboard Madrigal: January 2012
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 1, 2012. 2011 Wow. What a year to remember. Obviously Ivy's birth was by far the most amazing, life-changing, wonderful aspects of the year, but we were truly lucky to have such a fantastic year in general and I can't believe how memorable a year it was. In January, there was snow. So much snow. In February, we had a few nice days and were able to get out of the boat and enjoy the nice weather. April was the month of family help! July was Ivy's first experience with swimming in the ocean&...

Aboard Madrigal: May 2012
http://aboardmadrigal.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 21, 2012. Just wanted to let you all know that we are still here. The blog isn't ending because we sold Madrigal. The blog will just be evolving toward the Creekmore, just as we are. We've been super busy with lots of working overtime and lots of working on Creeky (not to mention spending time with baby Ivy). The picture should attest to the kind of work we've been up to! In the meantime lots and lots has transpired, but the stories will have to wait for a longer post. Thursday, May 3, 2012.
