We made strides on the issues that SEIU/UHW members are facing with the Labor Partnership Agreement during these 2 days of training and 1 day of real face-to-face interest based negotiations about what is limiting the progress of the Labor Partnership Agreement. We broke out into two groups. Management in one room and the union in another. What is hindering the National Agreement? 1) Strategic membership growth.

We are off to a great start, 150 rank and file members have convened at the Oakland Merriott to negotiate our UHW/SEIU Kaiser contract. 1) Protect all our benfeits. 2) Win raises for everyone. 3) Guarantee long-term job secruity. We all are here to win our UHW/SEIU Kaiser contract. No others will undermine our efforts to protect benefits for ourselves and our families. In unity there is strenght!

Teams are bonding and agreeing or working on agreeing on common interests and how to get there. We are here to enhance wages, reconfirm long term job security for our members, protect our benefits! DON'T GET CAUGHT UP WITH THE NONSENSE! Know that we are "in it to win it" "Don't take our stuff". We need you to be there for us as we stay focused on the positives also.

After early breakfast, the meeting started at 8:30 with a review of the rules of engagement for Common Issues Committee members on the four subgroups:. Workforce Planning and Development. Performance and Improvement and Sharing. Observers were allowed to choose which group they would like to monitor. After lunch.we split into the four subgroups.
