Life: ob-la-di, ob-la-da: November 2013

Life: ob-la-di, ob-la-da. Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Sometimes it's hard to be thankful. When life is painful and people you love are gone, it's easier to just wallow in sadness, watch a lot of movies, and eat way too much dessert. And there is a time for wallowing and dessert; for me, it was the last five months. But now is a time for thankfulness. Just in time, too, since Thanksgiving is Thursday! Today, I am thankful for:. The gift of life. The smell of cinnamon. Dogtopia and the people who work there.

A huge thank you to my sister, Angela, who scanned all of these pictures and made this slideshow possible. I miss you, Mom. Friday, September 06, 2013. Six Halls: November 2011
http://sixhalls.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 13, 2011. Champions Park Swim Team. Seconds. But each week there were less tears and improved swim times. One nice thing was that each child at the 6 and under age groups got a ribbon as soon as they got out of the pool so she felt like she had 'won. Although there were some rough moments, Mike and I encourage her through the whole thing. She does not have to do swim team again but if our children make a commitment. And start something, they have to finish it. Aubrey waiting on deck.

Six Halls: October 2011
http://sixhalls.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 20, 2011. While both girls were still in recreational gymnastics, they wanted to participate in Junior Olympics. Come to find out, it wasn't the performance part that they cared about, it was the t-shirt and trophy at the end. Aubrey and Mike were at a swim meet so they had to meet us there. Bannon's always does such a nice job of decorating for their special events. They even got their names on the wall. Hanging with the family before it started. Tuesday, October 18, 2011. The last day...

Friday, September 30, 2011. Good Friday Family Service. The kids and I went to our annual Good Friday family service. It starts at 5:00 so Mike wasn't able to meet us. Gabby (8th grade) and Mackenzie (7th grade) are two girls who are very helpful for me whenever we have events/activities at church. They love the kids and are very good with them. How does a panda fit in with the Easter theme? Then we headed outside for an egg hunt and to play with the bunnies and chicks. Gotta show Momma what I collected!

Six Halls: January 2011
http://sixhalls.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 28, 2011. Every year our church does a family Christmas event in the beginning of December. This year the theme was Topsy Turvy. Based on the fact that when Jesus came to earth it turned the whole world upside down. Being a member of the children's ministry staff, I was in on the planning for this event which was super fun because everything was very untraditional, bright and creative. The evening started out in the santuary with singing, a skit and some games. To stuff in a stocking.

Life: ob-la-di, ob-la-da: Not That Kind of Doctor
http://rlwhitenton.blogspot.com/2015/05/not-that-kind-of-doctor.html
Life: ob-la-di, ob-la-da. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Not That Kind of Doctor. After 27 years as a student of some sort, Mike graduated with his PhD on May 16! I couldn't be happier or more proud of him. He has worked so hard, especially these past 5 years at Baylor. His parents would be so proud. Drs Whitenton and Iverson. Baylor has treated us so well! Between teaching, writing, and being a new daddy, he will be pretty busy. :). For the party. What a special day! Uncle" Guyron came all the way from Plano.
