Sunday, May 31, 2015. Feast Day of the Visitation. That I wrote for the Living Lutheran site. In the churches of my younger years, we never celebrated feast days. What a loss. I love this additional calendar that circles through the year, this calendar that reminds us of what ordinary people can do. I also find these days inspiring in so many ways. Over at my creativity blog, I wrote a post. This feast day also reminds us of the value of retreat. Mary and Elizabeth take time to be away, but to be awa...

Wild, wild west week 3 | Emmaatlast's Weblog
https://emmaatlast.wordpress.com/2015/04/15/wild-wild-west-week-3
A place to be. Wild, wild west week 3. Monday, April 6. I am tempted to entitle this entry ‘winds of change’, for today’s blustery weather brought with it renewed vigor and hope. Continuing on our way, the sandy terrain gradually began to be punctuated with red sandstone buttes once again as we neared the border of Utah, though several were blackened plumes, which don imagined to be the cores of ancient volcanos. Stepping around the dead: napowrimo 2. April 2, 2012. POEM REMOVED FOR EDITING. Just like yesterday, it’s national poetry month. so it looks like i may be attempting a poem-a-day challenge like this one. As i have in years past. what the hell! Friends have been getting me through, which is interesting because one of the prompts for today is “lean on me” by bill withers. well, at least that’s what it is for. The real prompt is to find out the song that was #1 on the day you were born. ME IN THE WORLD.

Expected to mourn: napowrimo 3. April 3, 2012. Today’s prompt from napowrimo.net is to write an epithalamium. A wedding poem. today’s prompt for Poetic Asides is to write a poem of apology/non-apology. Which is funny because that’s what i ended up doing yesterday. I was probably inspired some by the fire images in jill’s icarus poem. And i was also looking out the window after a meeting at work today, looking down upon the trees, decidedly green with leaves. POEM REMOVED FOR EDITING. April 4, 2012 9:16 am.
