Something to Blog About: January 2015

http://kristygriffard.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Something to Blog About. Friday, January 9, 2015. 2015: Word of the Year. This year, I want to celebrate my achievements, my finishes, even my baby steps. Celebrating brings with it a spirit of happiness and positivity. It cultivates an attitude of gratitude. And there really is so much to celebrate! I've also joined the incredible Pat Sloan. In her quilting forum. I am using it to participate in Pat's block of the month party. So much fun! Telling me that I had won a copy of her new book! I couldn't be ...

Something to Blog About: A New Year's Summary

http://kristygriffard.blogspot.com/2014/12/a-new-years-summary.html

Something to Blog About. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. A New Year's Summary. It's been a year and a half since my last post. And sadly, that post was not on the happy side. We lost our little Daphne at 14 weeks. It was such a sad and very traumatic weekend. Thankfully, I was able to conceive again rather quickly. Our sweet little Gabriella joined the family on July 3rd, just seconds away from being a holiday baby. She will be 6 months old in 3 days! My goodness, it's going fast! Fall Quilt and Favorites.

Journeys in Journaling: April 2012

http://journeysinjournaling.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 27, 2012. Today happened to be a mixed bag for me at work. I've been trying to get an issue resolved for the past seven months ( to no avail, but it isn't from a lack of trying). My boss sees things one way, but another boss doesn't see things the same way. We have been at an impasse for about the past five months as I grit my teeth and bare it. Links to this post. Thursday, April 19, 2012. A Public Service Announcement on SHAS. My brother was up with his family for Easter. While they w...

Sunday, November 27, 2011. How to Completely Engage a Four and a Half Month Old. One of my brothers mozied his way up to my parents house with his family during his Thanksgiving break. We were able to spend time with them on Saturday night. In the words of Junie B. Jones, Munchkenna "got all jazzied up.". She sure got everyone else's attention though. Next time you are looking for something to get your baby engaged, try a chiwawa. And pull out the video camera. Links to this post. Nice Try, Wifey. It see...

Journeys in Journaling: Daddy

http://journeysinjournaling.blogspot.com/2012/07/daddy.html

Monday, July 16, 2012. While we were on our recent trip to Portland, we stopped in some random town to get some fuel, both for the car and for ourselves. Knowing that our check-in time for the hotel was not until 4:00 pm, we decided to kill some time in the local Dairy Queen. When I say the local Dairy Queen, don't be fooled. This was a deluxe Dairy Queen, complete with newish furniture, free Wi-Fi, and an indoor play place. After following us down the slide meant only for children (as in I had a really ...

Journeys in Journaling: October 2011

Saturday, October 15, 2011. You Might Have Missed. Since I have been so quiet here lately, I thought that I needed to stage a return. Instead of trying to relive all the events of the past three months, I decided just to give you some of the highlights. I can state the following happened during these months:. Munchkenna is now three months and tries to do situps. She can sit (supported) by herself, but prefers to be held (facing out to take in the wonders of the world). I now own an iPhone and an iPad.

Journeys in Journaling: May 2011

http://journeysinjournaling.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 23, 2011. Munchkin decided to be not so neeky today. Or maybe she was super neeky. After we got home from my parents' house tonight, I happened to peek over at the couch to find this:. Munchkin is to the point where she loves coloring. If there are pens, pencils, crayons, markers, or other writing implements around, she wants to color. Wifey told me that she caught Munchkin with a pen today sitting on the stair, but didn't think that she had tagged anything. She is just too neeky. Now it is a...

Journeys in Journaling: An Ill Father's Day Omen

http://journeysinjournaling.blogspot.com/2012/06/ill-fathers-day-omen.html

Saturday, June 16, 2012. An Ill Father's Day Omen. And we found that the carnival was cancelled because they failed an electricity check. Munchkin was slightly devastated that she would not be able to ride the merry-go-round that we had told her about. She loves the one at the zoo, but it is small, as merry-go-rounds go. Once again, Munchkin's hopes were dashed to pieces. She really. Wanted to see the animals. Stop number one was at a used clothing store for kids. Munchkenna is growing out of anythin...

Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Grandma and Grandpa Day. Saturday was Grandma and Grandpa Day. If it wasn't a national holiday, it should have been. Munchkin and Munchkenna spent all day with their grandparents, and had a ball. Methodology. There was a healthy pile of sprinkles left on the cabinet that didn't stick to a cookie or find its way into Munchkin's mouth, but she had a ball. I think Mom had just as much fun as Munchkin. After naps were over, we headed over to Wifey's parent's house. The routine start...

Journeys in Journaling: Personal Family Reunion

http://journeysinjournaling.blogspot.com/2012/07/personal-family-reunion.html

Wednesday, July 18, 2012. You may think that family reunions are these big, elaborately orchestrated events. This is especially true as families grow into their own families and start to spread. While this may be true, I have decided to try a new version of the family reunion this year that I like to call the personal family reunion. It was great to see you and your family. Journeys in Journaling: April 2011

http://journeysinjournaling.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 24, 2011. As I spent the past week starting a new position, I found myself smiling and nodding a bunch. I had so many names and faces to learn (which is still in process), as well as tasks, acronyms, and preferences. You never know what people like in their documentation until you work with them for a while. Since she is one of the older people on the floor, she took the time to ask a question: "What is a blog anyway? I just don't get it.". And this is why I blog. I want my kids to know...

Journeys in Journaling: July 2011

http://journeysinjournaling.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 31, 2011. My in-laws have been out of town for the past week or so. They had a family vacation planned to take a trip to the Oregon coast. We were invited to go, but respectfully declined many months ago when we found out that Munchkenna’s birthday was going to coencide pretty closely with the vacation. A two-week old and traveling long hours in a car for mommy don’t really add up all that well. And this is what we came up with:. Munchkin loved it. The rest of the time I mowed the lawn, ...

Love, Kristy Jane. Living life and loving it. Friday, October 7, 2016. We had so much fun labor day weekend :) It was really jam packed, but it was awesome. Here's what we were up to:. Saturday we drove over to Annapolis (it's probably just about 30 minutes away). Annapolis has such a cute downtown area. I don't know how to explain it other than it has a very historical. We visited Independence Hall, saw the liberty bell, and went to the temple open house. Aaron was once again almost perfect for the ...
