Welcome to my blog. Sunday, 2 February 2014. Three ways to preserve your cloves : garlic tsukemono. At the end of summer till autumn ( July till October ) garlic is harvested. It's one of my favourite herbs since forever, but I always have to throw away bulbs because they've gone bad or started to sprout. That is , until I discovered tsukemono (literally : 'pickled things') : the japanese art of pickling vegetables and herbs. I'll be describing my three favourite recipes here. I always use an empty jar f...

Last weekend I went to a meeting with people from the Kimono de Jack NL at the Keukenhof Flower Show, near the small town of Lisse , located in the West of the Netherlands, not far from the coast. Mostly bulb flowers like tulips, hyacinths , daffodils ) and these are still the main attraction of the Show. Hyacinths come in many varieties and they all smell wonderful. This w...

http://catsandkitsuke.blogspot.com/2015/05/houmongi-with-ro-obi.html
Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Houmongi with ro obi. I gues it's been a year since I've done kitsuke which shows at the pictures but what a lovely color-combination this orange houmongi and light green ro obi. The obi age which I used is also light green and the obi jime is orange, made of beads. Hope you had a great liberation day. So sweet and feminine color. May 6, 2015 at 9:51 AM. Thank you. Still enough to improve :). May 7, 2015 at 6:10 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Monday, November 15, 2010. Grafton Street and Brown Thomas decorations. Yesterday we also took some pictures of the streets. Again, in Brown Thomas. They had artificial snow being released outside. It look really pretty, although I don't even think they will be needing that machine for much longer. Temperatures here had a real drop last night, and I am sure the White Winter will be arriving soon. Before and after Sunset. In the Brown Thomas Hermès. But they look very pretty anyway. Now, the Christmas dec...

Sunday, November 14, 2010. Brown Thomas Christmas Decorations! We left Bella home today to take some pictures of the Brown Thomas. Windows. This year the theme is Celtic Mythology. A super-modern take on Celtic Mythology, I should add. I thought it was just brilliant and, for the 1st time in my life, I wish I were a windows designer! The pictures above show a "generic" view, from a certain distance and before Sunset. Below, some more detailed shots. Im so glad you shared this, Andrea! I was born in Rio d...

Thursday, April 30, 2009. This latest necklace is all about colour experimentation. This week I (re)started to study a bit of Japanese through colours. I mean, Japanese names of traditional colours: colours of nature, different flower shades, leaves, stones, and colours for most aspects of life. You may visit the NHK blog. As a flower, the wisteria (fuji) looks like a flowy cascade of purple petals (look at it here. Several Chinese cloisonnée oval beads in rosy lilac, light purple with silver threads;.

Thursday, May 28, 2009. I made this necklace this week, by Sunday or Monday. I called it "Tsukimi", which, in Japanese, means "viewing the Moon". It uses bluish-gray colours and seems a bit different from my previous work, since I use no focal beads or pendants. Still symmetrical though, but a continuous line of several Swarovski elements, gemstones and glass beads (that I brought from Prague). For this piece I have used:. Tibetan silver hook clasp;. Several kyanite round gemstones;. I love the AB effect...

Cats and Kitsuke: August 2015
http://catsandkitsuke.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 9, 2015. Japanese room with a twist of mine. I have tatami mats, shoji doors, kimono tansu and home made zaisu (. With no legs but a normal chair back) but still it. Didn't look like a real Japanese room. So this vacation I decided (with the help of my BF) that we would change it so it would become a proper Japanese room at least my version. Under supervision of course. We made a frame for the tatami of Iroko wood. We had to create a platform to get everything. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
