Kununurra is the main administrative centre in the East Kimberley. Located on the Ord river, it has a population of approximately 5,500. It is the largest town in Western Australia north of Broome. It is approx 3040 kilometres from Perth by road. The town is located close to the confluence of the Ord and Dunham River.
