Flowers

My choice of flowers favours the wild and the freely growing, rather than what is held in a vase. I try to emphasise the delicacy and transience of flowers by the use of suggestive background textures. Wood Anemones (27 X 26 cm). Crocuses 26 x 34 cm. Primroses and Pimpernels (24 x 33 cm). Gallery: Bird Paintings
http://www.suevancoppenhagan.com/birds.html
I spent my early life in Southern Africa, where an interest in birds was ignited during a spell in Botswana. The birdlife here was abundant and stunningly colourful, and I possibly didnt appreciate what a privilege it was to be able to sit in the garden and paint a kingfisher from life! As viewed from my studio window, great numbers of birds pose willingly on the bird-feeder or on the beak and head of the ornamental heron! Bullfinches and blossoms SOLD. Long tail tits SOLD. Pleasant Pheasant (23 x 30 cm).

Niamh Slack's Art News: Annual Blog Entry!
http://niamhslack.blogspot.com/2012/10/annual-blog-entry.html
Niamh Slack's Art News. Friday, October 12, 2012. Last year at the RDS I had the opportunity once again to meet gallery owners, and following our meetings I was invited to exhibit in two new galleries. A number of my seascapes are now hanging in 'Kenny's Gallery'. In Lahinch. This is a spacious gallery run by Carmel Kenny, and it's a lovely gallery space. I have also been exhibiting work in a beautiful new gallery called 'Gallery @ No. Six'. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Enter your email address:.
