Is a beautiful loch in the north of Scotland, and is also the largest loch in Sutherland. 17 miles long, the loch lies to the east of the Munro of Ben More Assynt. Some of the lochside is wooded, and this is a perfect location for relaxing, located very close to Lairg. At the time of writing it was only salmon fishing by fly rod that was allowed on Loch Shin, but you should check locally before fishing here. Close to Lairg is the River Shin.

Charges for Season 2016. Lairg Angling Club is situated on the north side of Loch Shin about 1 mile west of the Sutherland village of Lairg. The Club have boats available for hire on 3 local lochs, Shin Craggie and Beannach. The jewel of our lochs is Craggie which lies in the hills to the north of Lairg village and the boat is only available to club members. A magical place when the Mayfly hatch is on with fish averaging 1 lb . No petrol outboards or bank fishing allowed.
