Maps and How to Get There. Lake Bacalar is in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Adjacent to the (states of) Yucatán and Campeche. The lake itself is 50 kilometers long (north to south), but at most just 1 Km wide. Its southernmost point is just north of the Belize border and Chetumal. My place is at the very northern tip of the lake, nearby Limones and the junction that takes you from the main highway southwest to Majahual.
