I am not Trayvon Martin’s Mom | Under The Acacia Tree
https://blueberrybuzz.wordpress.com/2013/07/16/i-am-not-trayvon-martins-mom
Under The Acacia Tree. Life is big. Really big. Lean into Love →. I am not Trayvon Martin’s Mom. I distinctly remember one of the days I had to really own my racism. Yes, that’s right. I’m a white mother of 2 black boys and I’m a racist. Shocked? You shouldn’t be. As a white person with white privilege, it’s in the very air I breath. I am owning it. I can speak it, “I am a racist.” I try not to be, every single day. But, I am. How do I know I’m a racist? I went on to get deeply involved in working on bei...

Tsundoku Might Be a Real Word…and Delicious Minutiae’s First Contest! August 15, 2012 at 2:12 am ( Authors. I’m sure it will come as no surprise to anyone who read the sad story of my Amazon.com calendar purchase, that I also buy a lot of books. My friend Dawn, mentioned frequently around these parts, pointed out an internet forward that kinda-sorta reminded her of me. It went something like this:. I have nothing to add to this. And I learned a little bit about 1856 antebellum plantation living to boot!

Licky Dabs | A Farm Report
https://afarmreport.wordpress.com/licky-dabs
Musings of a daft gardener. A toast to my kitchen queen Ellen. LICKY DABS is her name for all food small and lovely! Like I’ve said, if I ever open a restaurant again (LOL) I would make it be appetizers only. I love these little creatures. Unfortunately appetizers are also usually a health conscious persons’ downfall. I’ve done my best to create a list of full flavor, but not off-the-charts-fatty, licky dabs for you to try and enjoy. Post a comment for how they work out! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Lyme Life | A Farm Report
https://afarmreport.wordpress.com/lyme-life
Musings of a daft gardener. A very good video on Chronic Lyme Disease: http:/ www.underourskin.com/. It is available online through Netflix. Lyme disease gets its name from Lyme, Connecticut, the town in which it was first documented in the United States. Lyme disease is a chronic inflammatory condition caused when the Borrelia burgdoferi bacteria is transmitted by the bite of a deer tick or black-legged tick (Ixodes scapularis) which shall henceforth be referred to as THAT DAMNED TICK! I tell you all th...

Sides and Salads | A Farm Report
https://afarmreport.wordpress.com/recipes-from-a-daft-gardener
Musings of a daft gardener. I say all the time to friends if I ever open a restaurant again it is going to consist of JUST appetizers. I think the best meals are made up of several small dishes served over the course of several hours with friends and a good bottle of wine…ok, bottles of wine. Americans have conditioned themselves to eat large portions, and to eat them quickly. This is just so wrong! Food is an intimate part of our lives…we should savor and enjoy all of it! Herb and Radish Potato Salad.

NEVER GET SOMEONE DRUNK FOR THE PURPOSE OF TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THEM. That being said….ENJOY! Enter your comment here.

Pancetta and Sprouts | A Farm Report
https://afarmreport.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/pancetta-and-sprouts
Musings of a daft gardener. Brussels Sprouts are making their way onto the scene in many gardens. The heads probably aren’t ready to cut, but the bottom leaves should be trimmed and the buds should be starting to develop. The plants are very cool looking – I think they modeled Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors after the developing Brussels Sprout. But I digress…. I love Brussels Sprouts. I love bacon. I love this recipe! 8230;it’s like eating New York City, without the pee smell. 1/4 cup olive oil.

Diabetes | A Farm Report
https://afarmreport.wordpress.com/diabetes
Musings of a daft gardener. I hate having diabetes. Like other chemical imbalances, you have to change your way of living to confront the Diabetic Devil. Since my diagnosis I’ve made some big changes. The biggest and hardest to change was reducing The Whites: sugar, bread, potatoes, pasta, chips, etc. It was really hard. I try and incorporate as many of these diabetes SUPERFOODS into my recipes and daily life:. Dark leafy greens (these are VERY easy to grow and rewarding to eat). Fat free milk and yogurt.
