Members of Nurture Lakeland. We care about the place we live amongst the open fells. We farm the surrounding fells (common land) together with neighbouring farms and have for some time been involved in an environmental scheme on Askham and Helton Fell which requires us to reduce sheep numbers during the winter to ensure that the heather can flower and flourish. August is a great month to come and see the 'purple' fells! We are committed to maintaining the network of walls and traditional farm buildings.

Accommodation - Widewath Barn. Until early 2014 the Barn was used to store logs. Back in history the barn was a stable and byre (a place to house cattle in the winter). The Barn is Grade II Iisted and has been sympathetically restored to retain its integrity. Care has been taken to retain original features including open stone walls and wooden beams. Where possible, we've furnished the Barn with recycled quality items. Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster.

Widewath Farm is set in a secluded location with panoramic views across the Lowther Valley and beyond. It is only 15 minutes from the M6 and the market town of Penrith. We are ideally located for cyclists, walkers and horse riders to explore! Venture up onto the wide open fells or down into the network of quiet lanes, bridleways and footpaths! Cyclists - The area caters for both recreational and experienced road and mountain bike cyclists. Families can cycle the many quiet lanes cutting between hamlets and villages of the Eden Valley. -.
