Expressing Myself: July 2014
http://kirstens-space.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 27, 2014. Sometime around the beginning of June, my parents bought me my graduation gift: a Pentax K1000. 35mm camera (one of these days I'll use my GH2 to snap a cute pic of it in natural light. I got an awesome camera strap for it and want to show it off! And I have finally developed some of the film I used to take pictures with it. I'm still getting used to it and some of the pictures were a little wonky, but I managed to snap some GREAT photos with this little treasure of mine. A fun clu...

Expressing Myself: November 2014
http://kirstens-space.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 23, 2014. I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas (Tree). Well, this year I put my foot down and said that now that we're in a more comfortable spot money-wise, I wanted my 6-foot white Christmas tree. Funny thing though is when we went to buy one, it cost the SAME AMOUNT as our weeny little 4.5-footer. So we got it without feeling guilty whatsoever. Here's Ryan getting the tree all set up and fluffing up the branches. I also did a lot of fluffing. The tree is all set up and mostly fluffed!

Getting away to the country is sometimes what someone needs to rejuvenate the soul. Well, I've hit 200 days this past week! Sunday, July 19, 2015.

Expressing Myself: Project 365, Days 204-210
http://kirstens-space.blogspot.com/2015/08/project-365-days-204-210.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Project 365, Days 204-210. My jade succulent has been doing poorly since our trip to Hawaii so I checked to see if it was still green at the base and sure enough it was! So I am seeing if I can resurrect it. Nothing like reading and laying out on a quilt on a mild summer day. Evening urban bike ride. Playing cards on a Sunday night. Ryan got a fun poster in the mail of a robot pirate fighting a zombie ninja riding a T-rex. He's such a boy ha! Jeanne, the mom and grandmom. Project ...

Sunday, August 30, 2015. Project 365, Days 232-238. My progress on my newest cross-stitching project. It's my favorite way to unwind from the day! Gotta clean my lenses. Dragonflies are one of the coolest bugs! I've been using Moleskine notebooks as my journal since I got married 4 years ago. The green one on top is my newest one and since I made the switch to Moleskine, I haven't looked back. Sprinklers kind of look like water fireworks. So that's it for this week! Tuesday, August 25, 2015. I made a fri...

Living the HI life. Life updates from the South Pacific paradise. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Cry Me A River Part Two. I'm so happy to have gotten the response on the last post I did.I was hoping to, if only to get some books to add to my reading list. First, some responses to the comments left on the post:. Not at ALL at Harry Potter? Not even when Dumbledore died? Wow, you might be dead inside. Or just need to really find a book that opens up the tearducts for that particular medium. The episode of Buffy ...

Running at the Speed of Life: Twelve Days of Christmas Traditions: Five Pieces of Extra Tasty Crispy
http://slammysworld.blogspot.com/2012/12/twelve-days-of-christmas-traditions_18.html
Running at the Speed of Life. We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams." - Arthur O'Shaughnessy. Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Twelve Days of Christmas Traditions: Five Pieces of Extra Tasty Crispy. This is a short one today, but a crucial one. It's hard to say whether there is more of gravy than of grave about this tradition, since it does involve mashed potatoes and gravy, but it's also a dead tradition. Dad told us that was Santa Claus on the bucket. That, or Mom and Dad lied.

Running at the Speed of Life. We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams." - Arthur O'Shaughnessy. Monday, May 16, 2011. Perhaps a Tin-Foil Hat Shall I Don. The world will end in approximately 5.34 days. Or thereabouts. Like this, only bigger. What if this is our Spark of Life (keep reading)? What if.still going.it was actually a mission to save mankind (or its lesser parts, “mank” and “ind”)? No, seriously.* What if NASA is working for a topper-than-top secret coalition of major ...

Running at the Speed of Life: The Recasting of Star Wars
http://slammysworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/recasting-of-star-wars.html
Running at the Speed of Life. We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams." - Arthur O'Shaughnessy. Tuesday, August 24, 2010. The Recasting of Star Wars. You've probably heard this before. It's an idea I've had for a long time, and if I do say so, it's a pretty dang good idea. Or set of ideas. Or whatever. So, the title: it doesn't really refer to finding different people to play the various roles in the Star Wars. Prequels, so to speak. The Overarching Problems with the Sequels. Where...
