Roby Milling: bio Diversity Training
http://robymilling.blogspot.com/2015/07/biodiverse-bit.html
Enjoying life - in all its forms, in a small piece of South Lancashire countryside - my local patch. 2015 Breeding Bird Populations. Thursday, 23 July 2015. I watched a small section of the patch - a cranny if you will, and indeed a nook. A very ordinary bit of land only about one meter square. Of the kind, that there must be, going for, a quarter of a million on the patch, and billions in the whole country. I stood there and marveled at the biodiversity on view. False Blister Beetle - Oedemera lurida.

Exploring wildlife and wildlife conservation in The Forest of Bowland and beyond. Forest of Bowland Frog and Toad Survey Spring 2017. Well done Scotland for giving Beavers protected status. How about a Bowland reintroduction scheme next. How about Dunsop or Roeburndale I can think of a few other places that could be suitable. They could be a great help with flood prevention if managed well. Leave a comment on Beavers in Bowland? A business support network of which I am a Director and Champion Bowland.

Roby Milling: June 2015

Enjoying life - in all its forms, in a small piece of South Lancashire countryside - my local patch. 2015 Breeding Bird Populations. Friday, 26 June 2015. I watched these two bumblebees flying - one seemingly attached to the other. They landed briefly allowing me to get this shot. Only when I got home and looked at the photo did it become apparent that they weren't Bumblebees at all but, in fact, hoverflies - Volucella bombylans. And they weren't fighting at all, but mating. Sunday, 21 June 2015. Middle ...

Caterpillar - day 22 - showing the five pairs of prolegs and three pairs of true legs. The case of the Mystery Eggs on the Conservatory Door. Has had to be re-opened. This had been put in the 'case closed' file - the eggs had been laid by a Cinnabar Moth. In one of the more bizzare experiments. It's been fascinating to watch the development of over th...
