This time we ate Jack-o-lantern Cheeseburger Pie (yummy) and made pumpkin cookies also (I took the cookies to the church for the cake walk). Thursday, July 30, 2009. Today is the day we celebrate Hunter! He turns 7 and it has been a terrific seven years. He keeps me on my toes and amazes me daily with all his knowledge. He is like a walking book. We have discovered that he has his Dad's sense of humor and loves to play practical jokes. I cannot wait to see what next year brings. Artwork and thoughts by Larry Foster. The Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Many years ago I visited the Garden of the Gods and its striking beauty stayed in my mind. I remember that while drawing it I became so very pleasantly lost as I made the details as well as when I was drawing the overall structure of the image. As near as I can tell the rock in the painting is The Old Woman Rock. There is some good information about it on a website called Mountain Project along with more photos.
