De AVG. is een lotgenotenpgroep voor gelaryngectomeerden en personen met een tijdelijke of blijvende tracheotomie en is werkzaam sedert 1966, toen ze werd opgericht onder impuls van mevrouw M. Wuyts. De groep telt momenteel 235 leden. De vereniging wordt nu geactiveerd door een werkgroep van een 20-tal vrijwilligers, al dan niet lotgenoten die zich bezig houden met de verschillende aspecten van de revalidatie.
