kigsblog: Accident in the Sluicebox
http://kigsblog-allapa.blogspot.com/2013/04/accident-in-sluicebox.html
Climbing tales from the Kigluaik Mountains. Monday, April 22, 2013. Accident in the Sluicebox. Left) The rock that had our name on it. It must have landed directly on the two half-ropes that joined me and Andy together. It took me a half hour to dig the orange rope out from under it before we could proceed down the mountain. Accident happened at around 3:30 pm on Friday, April 19. Andy was in fine form, coming off months of climbing-bum style living, project cragging around Fairbanks, and trips to New En...

http://kigsblog-allapa.blogspot.com/2014/06/thirty-fifty-four.html
Climbing tales from the Kigluaik Mountains. Wednesday, June 4, 2014. This started as a post about a minor peak in the vicinity of Mt. Osborn which Max Vockner and I climbed five weeks ago, but in the process of researching the article, a can of worms became opened: INDICTMENT! It was discovered that Kigsblog is once again guilty of crimes of misappropriation. If you have arrived at this post seeking information about the GLACIERS OF THE KIGLUAIKS controversy, scroll down to the lower half of the post.

She balked at the actual summit pinnacle, which required, in her mind at least,. Following me down the 5.5 down-climb in the picture; there's probably a way around this obstacle, but she never found it. Without this rule in place, climbing in the Kigs would legally be rendered "ridge-walking" rather than climbing.

http://kigsblog-allapa.blogspot.com/2010/06/pk-2345.html
Climbing tales from the Kigluaik Mountains. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Pk 2345, Johnstone Creek. On the hike out. Was hoping to redeem myself for the "insufficient fifth class" foul I had received on the trip thus far. i bounded up the thousand-foot slope expecting a summit tor with mandatory 5.8, but it turned out the tor wasn't a tor at all, but more of a scarp, built into the hillside like a sod house. the back side required little more than class II moves to reach the top. Right) to the summit of 2345.
