Stirling-Alloa-Kincardine Railway Re-opening - 15 May 2008. 2008 saw the official re-opening of the railway line between Stirling and Kincardine via Alloa. Freight services on any part of the route ceased in 1993, and the last scheduled passenger and freight services to serve Alloa's old station were in 1968 and 1970 respectively. The official re-opening saw the Scottish Railway Preservation Society. Pictures from the day can be found here. There is also a short video here.
