Thursday, March 14, 2013. Reach for the light. Why the Sunflower, Sue? I'm a bit surprised no one ever asked me that before.why do I have a sunflower as my logo? It started with a drive to Coventry one day and I passed a field of sunflowers in Somers. Cameras make you bold sometimes and I have not been shy to just get out, walk and shoot. It was a GORGEOUS Sunny Day. The Bees were loving it. And this smiling face caught my attention. Here's how it made way into my website header. Thanks for stopping by.

And folks packed in to hear the fine music of Red Hen. Good music, coffee, baked treats.and me snapping away with the camera, as usual! My View from the Territories. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Closing the doors at Bailey Farm. The farmhouse was built in 1790 and it had “central heat” right from the start… that is warmth from the five fireplaces emanating from the huge stone central chimney. Heat came from the core of the house while cold seeped in from the edges. The floor plan is designed to allow rooms to be closed off so heat can be conserved in the areas where cooking and gathering occurred. As the weather gets colder, we do the same.

Sunday, April 3, 2011. Carole Miller's greenhouse at Topmost Herb Farm. Is up and ready and filled with seedlings! I was able to go over when the greenhouse was going up a couple weeks ago. Here are a few shots. The night before the full moon. Still a shell, but the new frame was up. The next day brought progress. And climbing and stooping.
