Port Tampa Bay Series. East Coast/West Coast Series. My paintings are water-based oil on custom-stretched Belgian linen with a raw sienna under-painting, often revealed to the viewer. Oilbars are sometimes used for accent. I strive to communicate the incomplete while infusing the painting with a timeless quality. Since worn, aged surfaces and industrial objects appeal to me, the working waterfront's rust and grit provides the perfect subject matter for my work.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Laura Waller received her undergraduate and master's degrees from Newcomb College and Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Concurrent with her studies in sociology, psychology and social work, she developed a passion for art and art history. A solo exhibition of the latest of Laura Waller's Port Tampa Bay Series will open January 2017 at Clayton Galleries in Tampa Florida.
