Jordan K. Turgeon: December 2012
http://jordanturgeon.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 31, 2012. Favorite Books of 2012: The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. Let's get right to it, because 2013 is almost here, and I'm out of time to discuss my favorite books of this past year. (Hey - that rhymed! I should try poetry.). THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. I can't even string words together when describing how great he/this book is. I know you can't see me as I write this, but believe me, there are some grand, dramatic gestures going on. How much did I love this book? Look, I wish I co...

Jordan K. Turgeon: Favorite Books of 2012: Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson
http://jordanturgeon.blogspot.com/2012/12/favorite-books-of-2012-lets-pretend.html
Saturday, December 29, 2012. Favorite Books of 2012: Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson. I was first introduced to The Bloggess via a giant metal rooster named Beyonce. Not in real life, of course, though that would've been awesome. A colleague directed me to Jenny Lawson's blog after a long week when we all needed a good laugh. And good laughs were had. More accurately, good snorts were had - I have a tendency to snort when I laugh really, really hard. LET'S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED.

Jordan K. Turgeon: September 2010
http://jordanturgeon.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 27, 2010. What's up with the middle initial? When I started writing my first novel, and again when I wrote my first graduate school news article, I made the decision to include my middle initial in my byline. To be honest, it wasn't even really a decision at all - I always knew I would include the "K.". Plenty of authors and journalists use an extra initial or go by their full name. Why do I? Some selective photography courtesy of my sister. I just like the way it sounds. New York, New ...

Jordan K. Turgeon: January 2010
http://jordanturgeon.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 21, 2010. Random thought of the day. I don't mind the quiet. In fact, I often enjoy it. At the end of the day, after six hours of intense learning, I like to come home and just sit. Just be. Do my studying. Eat dinner. Maybe watch some TV. But, overall, just be. Not talking to anyone, not being talked to. Just quiet. Butif I can hear the train's loud system from my living room - all the way across the parking lot, on top of the Chicago wind - with it's little ding dong. However, I'm oft...

Jordan K. Turgeon: Favorite Books of 2012: Insurgent by Veronica Roth
http://jordanturgeon.blogspot.com/2012/12/favorite-books-of-2012-insurgent-by.html
Sunday, December 30, 2012. Favorite Books of 2012: Insurgent by Veronica Roth. I was a huge fan of Veronica Roth's debut novel, DIVERGENT. It had everything I look for in a good, can't-put-it-down book: high stakes, a powerful but complicated heroine and, of course, an equally complicated love interest. Also, it takes place in Chicago (or what's left of it). During grad school, I lived in the Chicago area for a year, so it was fun to read about landmarks and places I could perfectly picture. The pages ar...

Jordan K. Turgeon: July 2010
http://jordanturgeon.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 8, 2010. I’ll admit it: I’m a sucker for a great inspirational quote, particularly one about writing. Here is one of my all-time favorites:. The pages are still blank, but there is a miraculous feeling of the words being there, written in invisible ink and clamoring to become visible." - Vladimir Nabokov. Isn’t it so true? Jordan K. Turgeon: February 2010
http://jordanturgeon.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Random thoughts of the day. Watching HGTV programs makes a person really, really wish they had a big bathtub to soak in. My teeny tiny shower just doesn't cut it, sometimes! The 2010 Olympics start Friday. Need I say more? Valentine's Day is coming up. It bothers me when people are so anti-Valentine's Day just because they're single - there are so many other people you can extend some love to! So, this Valentine's Day, lots of love, Xs and Os to my family and friends! Gluten Ha...
