Northwest Poet: The Veil
http://laytonelliott.blogspot.com/2007/05/veil.html
The blog of a newly-published Poet from the Pacific Northwest. Thursday, May 31, 2007. I met my old love the other day. It was hard to find the right words to say. Cautiously speaking, we said our hellos. And idly chatted about weather and clothes. We circled around the subject of pain. When thoughts were directed to our love once again. And though we still felt the love in our hearts. Time had marched on and given us parts. To play in the show of "Remember Back When". So many reasons, excuses and tears.

Northwest Poet: I Think, I Thought
http://laytonelliott.blogspot.com/2007/04/i-think-i-thought.html
The blog of a newly-published Poet from the Pacific Northwest. Wednesday, April 11, 2007. I Think, I Thought. I think, I thought, I heard her voice. Calling out to me. And then I thought I answered back. Or was it just a dream? I saw, I thought, her gentle eyes. Dampened with a tear. I think I dreamt I kissed it dry. Allaying all her fear. I think, I thought, I heard her laugh. At my random verse. Of silly stories spun in rhyme. She said it could be worse. I felt, I thought, her tender touch.

Northwest Poet: May 2006
http://laytonelliott.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
The blog of a newly-published Poet from the Pacific Northwest. Tuesday, May 16, 2006. Moving to Beaverton Oregon. I am moving to Beaverton at the end of the month. I plan to actively push my book this summer; see if I can get more readings/signings. In the shadow of Poe, I walk. So slow, the telltale heart. Pounds in my ears. Drown in my tears, unfaithful wretch. Nevermore to see above the grief. Steal away in day, unlike the thief. Over the mountains of the moon. We walked beside the Shade,. Oh, so slow.

Northwest Poet: Sanity
http://laytonelliott.blogspot.com/2006/11/sanity.html
The blog of a newly-published Poet from the Pacific Northwest. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Sanity is not mine. It flees as I approach. Under leaves of the months of fall. It hides lest I encroach. Upon its freedom, its freedom. Safe from those who would partake. In corralling up all sanity. And baking it in a cake. Everything as it should be. In the frosted, perfect blend. Of perception filtered through a seive. And served up in the end. Posted by Layton Elliott at 3:12 PM. View my complete profile.

Northwest Poet: Untitled as of yet
http://laytonelliott.blogspot.com/2007/03/untitled-as-of-yet.html
The blog of a newly-published Poet from the Pacific Northwest. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Untitled as of yet. Oh where has our summer gone? The sweetness of sunshine and song? The winter does swift take its course. And leaves us no time for remorse. Oh but the memories there! The rays of light on your hair. The ripple of babbling brook. The love that we gave, and we took. And we swore an eternal vow. Faded in a memory now. And washed down the street in the rain. Echoed in splattered refrain.

Here is the last poem that I wrote:. And his child said "Where's Daddy? But only in his mind. As he was too young to mouth. The words he could not find. And his mommy rocked him slowly. In the cradle of her arms. While questions turned to silent dreams. Then vanished in the dawn. Posted by Layton Elliott at 3:57 PM.
