Leaf by Elizabeth: February 2014

http://www.leafbyelizabeth.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 10, 2014. However, I have been surprised by beauty throughout this winter. First by bare tree limbs against the navy or pearl or peach sky at dusk- a stark beauty, but still so intricate and pleasing. Here are a few pictures from a recent walk. Just snow and branches and shadows, but wow- so gorgeous. I have to grant it to you, winter, you surprised me again. Posted by Wild Calla. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Matthew, my two little girls. Beauty, color, nature. Ideas, words, wilderness.

Leaf by Elizabeth: March 2014

http://www.leafbyelizabeth.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 19, 2014. I love exploring new places! This is one of the many things I've re-discovered about myself this past year. These are generally things that were always true, but that now I can name and intentionally pursue. A few others are- color, painting, making things with my hands (knitting, basket-weaving, metal-work, pottery, you name it), thrift store shopping, taking photographs. Ahh- the winter afternoon light through the trees. Reminds me of a building from my college. Calls to you ...

Leaf by Elizabeth: February 2012

http://www.leafbyelizabeth.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 24, 2012. For the past number of years, whenever possible I've taken off work on my birthday, so I can take a day to relax and have fun. I love celebrating with family and friends, but there's also something special about spending part of the day on my own. Since having kids, a whole "vacation day" hasn't worked out (yet), but even a few hours feels luxurious and rejuvenating. Chocolate eclair and hot tea- a great combination. Posted by Wild Calla. Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Something for the soul. Clean dishes, soon to become dirty dishes. Groceries, to unload and later cook, which will make more dirty dishes. The near-constant state of our living room. May Sarton writes, in A Journal of Solitude. And to that I say, "Yes and yes and yes! My "morning pages" journal created by my dear friend. A journal which asks much of my soul in the best way. Posted by Wild Calla. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Matthew, my two little girls. Beauty, color, nature.

Matt, Elizabeth, Lucy and Clara. Friday, August 21, 2015. Beach adventures 1 and 2. We've been lucky enough to spend two awesome days at the ocean these past few weeks. First off, we headed north to the coast with our good friends. It was a delightful day of playing with our friends, jumping in the waves, surfing on boogie boards, and ice cream sundaes for dessert. Showing off the sand castle she made all by herself! We had chocolate-dipped, sprinkle-covered, waffle ice cream cones. Quite a treat! L: Thi...

Matt, Elizabeth, Lucy and Clara. Wednesday, October 1, 2014. This post requires a lot more exclamation points than that, but I will spare you all. It had been 7 years since my last camping trip (when I was pregnant with Lucy! Matt was really sorry not to be able to join us, but has promised a family camping trip next year!

"Leaf" by Jana

You remember that large painting, the one they used to patch the damaged house next door to his, after the gales and floods? I found a corner of it torn off, lying in a field.
