Compositionally, I perceive art as a visual melody, which can be as simple as a song, or as complex as a symphony, and I endeavor to develop a piece that is more profoundly intriguing than the typically representational image itself would, at first glance, imply. Among the many, many past masters whose work I admire, artists such as Titian, Caravaggio, Manet, Bouguereau, Sargent, and Sorolla, are particularly inspiring to me.
