The Copper Wire Nymph — Learn Fly Tying

http://learnflytying.co.uk/the-copper-wire-nymph.html

Fly Tying Video Instructions with Information on Patterns and Materials. The Copper Wire Nymph. The Copper Wire Nymph. This is an under-rated fly for rivers, sometimes known as the Copper Nymph, and usually confused with the more popular Copper John Nymph. Not only is it a very easy fly to tie but the basic materials are all readily available. Charles Jardine in his Directory of Fly Dressings advocates a tail of golden pheasant tippets. I prefer a tail of a small bunch of cock pheasant tail feathers.

Best used as a point fly with a smaller dropper, i.e. a mallard & claret. If you are lucky enough to be at the river during the day when it is running off and there is still some colour in the water, you will find a gold head version is well worth a try. Fly Tying Video Instructions with Information on Patterns and Materials. The method demonstrated I have found to be the simplest to tie to get the legs to sit well on the hook. The use of colours on the legs and bodies is only limited by your imagination. I do find a ‘hotspot’ at the tail helps. Hook Long shank lt. wt 10. Hotspot Fluorescent orange/red/green floss. The Bob's Bits — Learn Fly Tying

http://learnflytying.co.uk/the-bobs-bits.html

Fly Tying Video Instructions with Information on Patterns and Materials. The Bob’s Bits. This fly has been a favourite with the Stillwater fly fishers for several years. Originally it was devized by Bob Worts for fishing Grafham Water when reservoir trout fishing was in its infancy. It was not long before its popularity spread to other stillwaters. The white hackle wing is intended as a ‘sighter’ rather than imitative. In a ripple it may help to treat with floatant. Thread – To suit body colour.

FLYBEI – We are haunted by waters. A German Fly Fishing Blog.

TICKS, POISON IVY, and BLACK BEARS. PHOTOS AND STORIES FROM NORTHERN WISCONSIN. I've got a lot of work to do. My speed is decent for so early (8.5 min./mile) and I'm having no soreness to speak of.other than the blisters. I LOVE being back on the bike! I LOVE the hills! The running feels good too but there's something about the smooth rolling speed of the bike that keeps me coming back. Pure neglect. I have no other excuse. Ok, that's really all for now. Hope you're all well. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

TICKS, POISON IVY, and BLACK BEARS. PHOTOS AND STORIES FROM NORTHERN WISCONSIN. Are we there yet? Do you remember saying that while on long road trips as a kid? What I remember is asking that question and then immediately ducking to avoid the swinging, hairy arm of the "law" that passed overhead as a warning and a reminder that my Dad was thinking exactly the same thing. But what I'm talking about now isn't family vacations, it's Spring. Are we there yet? I think we might have arrived.finally. Joel and I...

Learn Fly Tying

Learn the basics to fly tying, to catch the all elusive brown trout. Friday, August 18, 2006. The Adams is probably the most popular dry fly of all time. It might be the simple name that draws people to this fly, but I would bet it is results that keep them coming back. This is one very productive fly. It matches most mayfly hatches well enough to work most of the time, and it can be tied in any variety of sizes to fit most needs. As we progress from the Adams to the Royal Wulff (later) and the Humpy (ev...
