Under the Alphabet Tree: Bittersweet News
http://underthealphabettree.blogspot.com/2015/05/bittersweet-news.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2015. I'm back with some bittersweet news! I'm so excited and happy to announce that I'm finally moving to Nashville to live closer to my family and teach Pre-k! I'm psyched to go back to Pre-K and have some fun with the little ones! I will miss teaching K, my AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, PHENOMENAL team and my Smith family. Today I turned in my macbook, the rest of my keys and said my last goodbyes. I've been waiting to post because I'm not sure if I'll be posting anymore on this blog or not.

mollie's mom: Pack Up Your Troubles...
http://madebymolliesmom.blogspot.com/2015/06/pack-up-your-troubles.html
Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Pack Up Your Troubles. Pack Up Your Troubles. In Your Old Kit-Bag, and Smile,Smile, Smile.". For some reason that old WWI song popped into my head when I looked at these pictures :). I know getting a backpack didn't end their worries/troubles. Like if they will get enough to eat or have a dry home in the rainy season or will bugs crawl on them while they sleep on a dirt floor). But we sure did smile, smile, smile when we handed out backpacks. This was our second trip to Honduras,.

Adventures of an Art Teacher: Tennis Mural
http://www.katiemorrisart.com/2015/07/tennis-mural.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. The tennis courts at one of the parks in my hometown were recently refinished- great! I spent Monday morning just drawing everything out. My dad helped me use his chalkline to snap the rays and the lines for the top of the net, then I tried to make a grid to draw out my plan. That was much trickier than I expected with the scale of the project- approximately 10x28 feet. Labels: art in the park. Helen K. Beacham Fine Art. July 9, 2015 at 7:12 AM. July 12, 2015 at 6:12 PM. We can't leave anything on the wall or bulletin boards. So needless to say it's quite an undertaking to get the room ready for my new batch of kinders. Here are the bins for...

Back To School: 10 Cent Folders for Guided Reading - Literacy Without Worksheets
http://litwithoutworksheets.blogspot.com/2014/07/back-to-school-10-cent-folders-for.html
Back To School: 10 Cent Folders for Guided Reading. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. One of my favorite back-to-school items to stock up on are pocket folders! Usually I can find them for 10 cents! I've had a couple people ask me how I use folders for guided reading. I always stock up on the two pocket folders when they go on sale for 10 cents. In fact, I make my whole family buy them! Depending on the grade level, depends what we put in the folders. For first and second grade, I'll sometimes use the Kindergart...

Kathy Griffin's Teaching Strategies: 100th Day of School Activities
http://kathygriffinteach.blogspot.com/2015/01/100th-day-of-school-activities.html
Tuesday, January 20, 2015. 100th Day of School Activities. Are you needing activities for the 100th Day of School? Counting objects to 100 requires a lot of hands on practice and understanding of one-to-one correspondence. Understanding that the numeral 100 means 100 objects requires even more hands practice. Here are fun ways to work within 100 by using paint sticks and borders. Children can lay the strips out counting by 10's to get to 100 (10 strips). Add 1-2 dice to make it a game. Have one child rem...
