The Tale of... Mama and Sam: Winter Window Display
http://leemckellan.blogspot.com/2013/11/winter-window-display.html
Friday, 29 November 2013. The Autumn window has gone sadly and we are moving on to Winter! I plan to also add some snowflakes to the window too - hoping to do it on a day where it is actually snowing! Below are the printables I made for our window! Again the images are from google images but these are nice and clear for Sam to learn! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Wednesday, 4 December 2013. Activity: Christmas Sensory Tubs 04/12/13. S A M letters. Christmas Tree Ice Cube Tray. Two trays that were made up over the start of December to help keep Sam occupied when we were putting up the tree with decorations that he could play with and explore - and keeping him away from our breakable decorations! The Tale of... Mama and Sam: Activity: Christmas Card Crafting 11/12/13
http://leemckellan.blogspot.com/2013/12/activity-christmas-card-crafting-111213.html
Wednesday, 11 December 2013. Activity: Christmas Card Crafting 11/12/13. The cards above are the ones which we created together for our family, but Sam has quite a large social group so we have to make some more for his little friends so today we completed some potato printing! I find potato printing can be hit or miss, especially when using BLACK PAINT (the one which does not wash! But today it worked quite well! Technical terms all round today! The black splodges dried! So we moved on to white splodges!
The Tale of... Mama and Sam: Activity: Small World - Snowed In! 09/12/13
http://leemckellan.blogspot.com/2013/12/activity-small-world-snowed-in-091213.html
Monday, 9 December 2013. Activity: Small World - Snowed In! Sam is big on cars at the moment (really anything with wheels! And I was wondering what to do with this fake snow that I had bought from the pound shop, so a major snow storm hit our small world! Sam enjoyed making car tracks in the snow, we used paint brushes as street sweepers! To help clear a path for the cars, and also to brush the snow from the cars! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Tale of... Mama and Sam: Colour Wheel Printables
http://leemckellan.blogspot.com/2013/11/colour-wheel-printables.html
Thursday, 28 November 2013. Sam is learning all sort of colours at the moment so I thought it would be good to create some colour wheels for recognition! There is also a future activity I have planned with these involving matching coloured pegs too. But for now here are the simple and advanced printables for the colour wheels:. Roadside Knits: July 2011
http://roadsideknits.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
And crochets and sews and more. Friday, 1 July 2011. It was one of the most surreal things I have ever done, although you can hear things from the ground, the noises are almost not there, it was so peaceful. To make the experience even more unreal it had been announced that morning by Cadbury Trebor Bassett (the owners of the balloon) that Bertie was being retired so I was one of the last people ever to fly in him. Roadside Knits: Changes
http://roadsideknits.blogspot.com/2011/08/changes.html
And crochets and sews and more. Monday, 22 August 2011. I have been so neglectful of my little space here, so much has happened in the last month. I finally cracked at work, after the straws were piling on top of me and weighing me down to the point of insanity (Ok a little melodramatic, but that is how it felt at the time) so I called time on it for good. Great for me personally but not so good for the purse strings. I will hopefully be back very soon with more news and maybe a photo or two. x.
Roadside Knits: August 2011
http://roadsideknits.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
And crochets and sews and more. Tuesday, 23 August 2011. We had five lovely days on Hayling Island at the beginning of the month. My parents took their little caravan down to a beautiful caravan park on a creek (of which we had lovely views) and we settled in as quick as can be. It was just Mr Roadside, Bethany and me, we did make up the little bed for Bethany but to no avail, she spent every night in with us, thankfully the sofas pull out into a very large bed, Bethany does love to spread herself out.
Roadside Knits: Pretty Vintage
http://roadsideknits.blogspot.com/2011/06/pretty-vintage.html
And crochets and sews and more. Sunday, 19 June 2011. So today out it came, it was given a bath and set out upon the table, along with some lovely crystal glasses which we do use, (alcohol does not taste the same out of cheap Ikea glasses) I did stop at getting the silver cutlery out though, I was not going to sit there for hours polishing that lot, maybe another day. Beautiful china, I ermember all the lovely ware my great gran used to have, stunninig also. Youre so lucky it is gorgeous :). I am now a g...
Roadside Knits: April 2011
http://roadsideknits.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
And crochets and sews and more. Friday, 29 April 2011. Good Luck to William and Kate. Just to add to the theme of the day a picture or three of my baby girl on her wedding day, her bouquet was originally mine from my wedding, I added a few more flowers to it to add a little length, and though you cannot see it there is a little silk frog hidden in there, I do not really know why but when I chose the flowers I saw him and couldn't resist. Roadside Knits: March 2011
http://roadsideknits.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
And crochets and sews and more. Sunday, 27 March 2011. I have never tried to read a crochet pattern or chart, but have found my copy of Happy Hooker and several crochet books I found in the charity shop last week, and I plan to spend the day having a little peruse of them and see if I can make any sense of them. Links to this post. Saturday, 19 March 2011. I found the pattern on another blog, unfortunately I cannot remember which one so I cannot tell you whose pattern it is, it is a nice easy one though.

Roadside Knits: May 2011
http://roadsideknits.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
And crochets and sews and more. Sunday, 29 May 2011. These pictures are not the best, I am crap at photography and the light is not to good outside yet, it is still quite early. The colours are even more vibrant in real life. I tried to keep the colour sequence as random as I could, not easy being as anal as I am with colour, just picking for the next repeat what felt right, I did however undo a couple of repeats because they clashed way too harshly for my over sensitive eyes. What I am going to make wit...

And crochets and sews and more. Monday, 24 January 2011. There has been knitting, I finished the front of the cushion cover, just need to do the back and then get a cushion pad. I am really pleased with it so far and think I will do another one with the yarn left over but in a different pattern, I may try a cabled one. Links to this post. Sunday, 23 January 2011. Roadside Knits: January 2007
http://roadsideknits.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
And crochets and sews and more. Thursday, 25 January 2007. I Love Mrs S. I have done a little more to the beanie today but not much, that's the only problem with dk, it seems to take forever to grow, and it's for a nearly grown up head, I like newborn baby hats. My bestest pal Mrs S came round today, she bought me stash. Links to this post. Wednesday, 24 January 2007. Arently does not come far enough down his ears, he shouldn't have such a big head, it fits me beautifully! I would have thrown this in the...

Upcoming Events for Post-Truth. Re we living in a post-truth world, where "alternative facts" replace actual facts and feelings have more weight than evidence? In my latest book Post-Truth. MIT Press 2018), I trace the development of this phenomenon from its roots in science denial, cognitive bias, and postmodernism through the rise of "fake news," "information silos," and alternative media. What exactly is post-truth? Is it wishful thinking, political spin, mass delusion, or bold-faced lying?
