Everyone says that the first couple of days through Cornwall and Devon are tough. Looking at the elevation and saw tooth nature of day 1 I think they may have a point. It is only 93 miles but. I had really hoped to be able to carry on following the coast through Devon going through Exmoor National Park. There are some roads that look like they would do the job but there is no choice but to head inland to cross the River Parrett. I have some sympathy with the local councillor who proposed a bridge over the estuary.
