The ideas, the knowledge and reflexions from an earlier project (Plastic Fantastic), made me find interest in building and setting the casted modules into new objects. The geometrical forms combined with various structure and tactility in the surface of the glass, gave new expressions to the objects. Which further led me into the work with the series of Unique. Cast black glass, k-glass 1,5 -7 kg. The School of Design, Bornholm, Denmark 2011.

What makes an object unique? Can a direct cast from an industrial product become an unique object? What makes a material in this context valuable? Is glass more valuable than plastic? I combined glass and plastic in Plastic Fantastic. I wanted the viewer up close to these objects to see, touch and be astonished when mistaking the two materials. Inspired by Brancusi’s “Endless Column”, Verner Panton and LEGO. The objects can built and set in many variations.

Old v’s New. Old v’s New. Solo show at Gallery Format, Oslo, Norway. Together with Gallery of Czech Glass we are discussing a group glass exhibition in Prague/Czech Republik and Oslo/Norway. In February/March I will participate at Eli Benveniste s workshop at Bornholm Art Museum, Denmark. I have been invited to participate in The Arctic Circle 2016; an art and science expedition to the High Arctic, October 1st to October 19th, 2016. The official opening of my Glass-studio will be held the 31th of October.

Old v’s New. Old v’s New. Unique is a series of individual glass works that stand alone yet relate to each other. My inspiration comes from the ocean and the nature of water, the transformation from flowing liquid to solid ice. Glass as a material has these same qualities. I have tried to illustrate my fascination of water with my glass works. Like ice, the form can be sharp and hard. I am fascinated by contrasts in life, and try to bring contrasts into my work with glass.
