Rockin' Our Madeus: Three!: Analysis This
http://rockinourmadeus.blogspot.com/2011/07/three-analysis-this.html
Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Here are a few of my favorite examples of his little analytical mind:. He talks about angles and toxins and uses words like discussion, frustration, and issues. Yesterday he told me. "I have a lot of issues." When he goes poo, he says, "I feel better now because I got all my toxins out.". He loves riddles and word games right now. Clues are all the rage. Today we were working on the letter A. I said, sometimes when we are fighting we call it a and he filled in "argue". A few day...

Rockin' Our Madeus: Three!: Finding God
http://rockinourmadeus.blogspot.com/2011/05/three-finding-god.html
Tuesday, May 17, 2011. He said,"No." So Mike prompted him with "Mother ." And Madeus yelled out, "No! Mother Nature does not make the rain, God does! After he yelled at Mike he reconsidered and said, "Mother Nature and God live together in the sky as family.". The wheels are turning in that beautiful little mind. I hope we can find the right balance of protection, self discovery, and critical thinking as he ponders the big questions. Great post Letia. A very fertile yet rarely talked about topic.

Rockin' Our Madeus: 4 and 1/2: 8 Days
http://rockinourmadeus.blogspot.com/2012/07/4-and-12-8-days.html
Sunday, July 1, 2012. 4 and 1/2: 8 Days. For you and for all of us, we were given the gift of time during such fear and anxiety. Since Moma still works outside of the home, you usually don’t get this kind of quality time. She played cars with you, picked you up from school, played dominoes, and took you to the movies (twice). And the time with your 84 year-old, Poppy, frankly would never have happened. Our communities were saved because of a blow of the wind and other communities were destroyed because o...

Rockin' Our Madeus: Four!: Red Light, Green Light
http://rockinourmadeus.blogspot.com/2012/05/four-red-light-green-light.html
Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Red Light, Green Light. Red Light, Green Light. It should be well established by now that Madeus does most everything on his own terms. What amazes me is how he knows confidently when he is ready. It seems to be a childhood gift, one I wish I still possessed, where second-guessing and insecurity have no room in decision making. He got up and started walking without a second thought at 9 1/2 months. Madeus pre wheels off. I as a bit busy after! But there is video. When will I happen?

Rockin' Our Madeus: Three!: Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
http://rockinourmadeus.blogspot.com/2011/03/three-mr-magoriums-wonder-emporium.html
Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium. Madeus fell in love with this movie really young. For a time around 2 he preferred all live action movies and tv to cartoons. I loved the movie too and the main girl's name is Mahoney which is Maddy's middle name. Anyway, a lot of the themes of the movie center around doing the unexpected and using your imagination. I can always use reminders to embrace these two important childhood insights. I love this story! March 22, 2011 at 1:03 PM.

Rockin' Our Madeus: Four! Madeus' First Day of "Kindergarten"
http://rockinourmadeus.blogspot.com/2012/08/madeus-first-day-of-kindergarten.html
Sunday, August 26, 2012. Madeus' First Day of "Kindergarten". I Will Carry the Bag. I t was everything I always thought it would be…. Except it was not. First, Madeus has entered Kindergarten a year early. But more likely than not, we will have him repeat Kindergarten next year in public school. So the week came and my analytical mind didn’t know how to treat it entirely. Do I take pictures of him “off to Kindergarten”? Do I treat it like pre-K? My baby would be gone from 8-3. Should I reduce the day?

Rockin' Our Madeus: Four: Different Strokes
http://rockinourmadeus.blogspot.com/2012/03/four-different-strokes.html
Saturday, March 31, 2012. Madeus is competitive. Maybe it is natural stage. Maybe it is the product of his two competitive parents. In any respect, I am trying to calm it just a bit. Not necessarily with himself just yet but in the comparisons and rankings he has started with his peers. “Am I smarter than Stella? 8221; “Who do you love more? May be better at the puzzle right now, and Stella may be better at reading right now, we all have different things we are good at at different times.”. Our day to day.

Rockin' Our Madeus: On The Eve of Four
http://rockinourmadeus.blogspot.com/2011/11/on-eve-of-three.html
Tuesday, November 8, 2011. On The Eve of Four. Madeus turns 4 tomorrow. I asked him what his favorite thing about three was. He answered, "Cars, jumping in snow, you and daddy, my home, my whole family, the whole city, and the best thing is, having a little brother." Melted my heart, although, about ten minutes later he made it clear that he loves his baby toy dinosaurs more than his baby brother. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
