The Village: Ventenac en Minervois. Ventenac en Minervois is a quiet, peaceful village on the Canal du Midi. The village dates back to Roman times: Ventenachus seems to have been a veteran of the Roman army, and he built a villa on a hill overlooking what is now the valley of the River Aude. We have three bedrooms for bed and breakfast. They are very comfortable and well equipped, with nice soft towels and white cotton sheets. The bathrooms have soap, shampoo and a hairdryer. Has a double bed, wardrobe, chest-of-drawers, en-suite shower room with WC and wash-handbasin, and a balcony overlooking the garden. There is a TV/DVD player, with a Freesat box. In the Visitors’ room there is a supply of DVDs from our collection of films and TV series. The room has a ceiling fan to cool you in summer.

The Region: The Languedoc. The famous tourist attraction of Carcassonne is about 40km away. Although it is described by UNESCO (it is a World Heritage site) as an outstanding example of a medieval fortified town most of the fairytale buildings of La Cité were recreated in the 19th century.
