John's Bike Blog: August 13, 2013 - Lauragh
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-13-2013-lauragh.html
My travels by bicycle. Thursday, 15 August 2013. August 13, 2013 - Lauragh. The Beara Peninsula is shocking. Shockingly beautiful, shockingly windy, shockingly wet, and shockingly hilly. This all made for a roller coaster of a day in more ways than one. My goal for the day was Castletown, where I was to stay with a warm showers host. To get there I would travel to the end of the peninsula, past Castletown before looping north and around through the mountains to return to the small city. August 27 - London.

John's Bike Blog: August 14, 2013 - Dingle
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-14-2013-dingle.html
My travels by bicycle. Thursday, 15 August 2013. August 14, 2013 - Dingle. I'll keep this one brief since I've been hogging the free public computer int he library for nearly three hours now. The ride from Lauragh to Dingle was, again, a mixed bag. It seems nothing stays constant in the country when it comes to weather. One minute its pouring, the next it's sunny, the next it's pouring again. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Davidopoulin.com (Dave's blog and website).

John's Bike Blog: Day 1, August 1, 2013
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/day-1-august-1-2013.html
My travels by bicycle. Wednesday, 7 August 2013. Day 1, August 1, 2013. You can all stop worrying about me. Thanks though. I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've been overseas. I'm not sure whether it feels like forever, or like I just got here. I've seen so much, been to so many places already, and experienced such a wide range of emotions along the way. I'm currently in Birkenhead, just west of Liverpool, where I'm staying in the home of Colin, a host from warmshowers. So very much stuff.

John's Bike Blog: August 15, Dingle again
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-15-dingle-again.html
My travels by bicycle. Monday, 19 August 2013. August 15, Dingle again. I woke up in Dingle to the familiar sound of wind and rain. It's unfortunate that the weather here is so unpredictable. My plan today had been to cycle around the Dingle peninsula which is supposed to be some of the most beautiful coastline on the country, maybe even Europe. I would then ride through Ireland's highest mountain pass to the town out Tralee. Fortunately my plan worked. After wandering around the town, spending some ...

John's Bike Blog: August 2013
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
My travels by bicycle. Sunday, 25 August 2013. There are few breakfasts I would be willing to pay fifteen dollars for back home. Certainly nothing with the words slam our tutti in it's name. However, a full English or Irish breakfast with homemade bread for the toast, local eggs, and bacon that might have been the pig you ride past yesterday, does make the cut. August 27 - London. Now I'm in London, the final stop on my adventure and it's a truly amazing city. The city center feels incredibly alive w...

John's Bike Blog: August 6, 2013
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-6-2013.html
My travels by bicycle. Friday, 9 August 2013. August 6, 2013. I broke camp in the morning and began to ride into the heart of Snowdonia. The scenery speaks for itself, and helped cement Wales as one of my favorite places I've rode. Today's ride brought me through Caernarfon, home of one of the largest castles I've seen. I arrived early enough for a walk through and enjoyed exploring the passages and narrow spiral staircases. One day, the front entrance to my home will look like this. My destination today...

John's Bike Blog: August 12, 2013 - Ballylickey
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-13-2013-ballylickey.html
My travels by bicycle. Thursday, 15 August 2013. August 12, 2013 - Ballylickey. The next day I rode out of cork and visited Blarney Castle. Kissing the blarneystone, along with visiting the Guinness Storehouse, are two of the 'important' tourist activities one simply has to do while in Ireland. The castle itself is quite well preserved (it's quite a bit younger than many of the other castles I've seen). The decent down from the pass was nice and fast. I ended up camping in the small town of Ballylick...

John's Bike Blog: My Favorite Photos
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/p/my-favorite-photos.html
My travels by bicycle. This page is a collection of some of my favorite pictures from the trip so far. Some are here because I think they look amazing, others because they remind me of a great time. The beach in Tofino where I began my trip. The Nanaimo Harbor with the twilight sky behind me reflected in the water. The road to the ferry, riding on a slow leak. Fixing my first flat tire while in line for the ferry to Tssawassen. My campsite in Hope, BC on the Fraser River. The Othello Tunnels in Hope, BC.

John's Bike Blog: August 19 - on the bus to Derry
http://johnsbikeblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-19-on-bus-to-derry.html
My travels by bicycle. Monday, 19 August 2013. August 19 - on the bus to Derry. I've spent the last couple of days in the lovely town/city of Galway. It's Ireland third largest city but only has eighty thousand people or so. Even so, it's a lovely, fun little town, which draws heaps of tourists from all over Ireland and beyond.
