February 28, 2015. Smiles Sent Saturday 2/28/2015 LetterMo. The last week of A Month of Letters Challenge. Was great for me I sent over a dozen pieces of mail! This envelope went to an aunt in an area of the country getting having a hard winter, so for fun, I sent an extra copy I had of the childhood book The Tough Winter. It's about rabbits and other woodland animals making it through a "tough winter," hence the envelope decorations. Then sealed them with different tapes. The name “Smiles Sent Sat...

February 21, 2015. Smiles Sent Saturday February 21, 2015 LetterMo. Another busy mail week with A Month of Letters Challenge. I was uninspired a little bit at times, but other times it really just flowed! I managed to get out mail every day the mail was supposed to run-although one day it had to sit in the mailbox and wait due to winter weather. This is a frog themed envelope I made for a friend who likes frogs. This is the front of envelope holding a get well/encouragement card. I like the little frog.

May 9, 2015. Smiles Sent Saturday May 9, 2015. Well, I haven't been posting much, in part, because I've been busy preparing to visit a lot of the people I normally only get to "send smiles" to! But here's a few envelopes I've decorated lately. I'm really enjoying using vintage stamps to get just the right one for the envelope! This one is to go with a card with a squirrel on a similar tree. This card was red and yellow with sunflowers and lady bugs. A play on "April showers bring May Flowers".

Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Incoming and Outgoing Mail. I'm having fun with the Month of Letters so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can stay on track with it! Here's what came in the mail yesterday from a penpal that I actually met through LetterMo, Ria, and have kept in touch with over the past year:. And here's today's outgoing mail: a postcard to a LetterMo contact (a new one this year, just basically a postcard swap), and a reply to the above letter. As you can see, I got a little. In case you ...

Green Woman Comes Knocking: February 2015
http://greenwomancomesknocking.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Green Woman Comes Knocking. Saturday, February 28, 2015. 1 Everything I Never Told You, Celeste Ng. 2 The Children Act, Ian McEwan. Would a small touch of redemption or hope be too much to ask? 3 An Unnecessary Woman, Rabih Alameddine. 4 Havisham, Ronald Frame. 5 Girlchild, Tupelo Hassman. 6 Animal dreams, Barbara Kingsolver. I was very pleasantly surprised with how invested I quickly became with the characters and the storyline. 7 Kitchen Confidential, Anthony Bourdain (audio, read by author). It's inte...

Behind the scenes and under the desk of The Well-Appointed Desk. Busy Weekend: Part Two. March 19, 2014. On Sunday night, I went to see a live performance of Welcome to Nightvale. With my friend Laura, AKA FluffyKira. Hostess of the blog, The Corner of Knit and Tea. Nightvale is a podcast done as a fiction radio drama and its fun, nerdy and incredibly well-done. I highly recommend it. Who did an epic rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” on toy piano. Amazing. Carlos is on the left (oh, his hair!

Tuesday, 24 February 2015. I put Mary Oliver'. S 'Wild Geese' on my 101 books list, but 'Twelve Moons' was the one that the library had so I requested it anyway. It has loitered in the living room for a couple of weeks being read intermittently. The smell of her lonely meditations! I enjoyed last week listening to this lovely interview. Eight o'clock, no later,. You light the lamps,. The big one by the large window,. The small one on your desk. They are not to see by -. The scrub oaks and cranberries,.
