They’re things I’ve come across. Things I’ve thought about. Things I’ve lived through. Things I’ve had to learn the hard way. Things I’ve talked about. Failures are made only ...

Mausi: the Great White North is calling my name
http://justcallmemausi.blogspot.com/2010/06/great-white-north-is-calling-my-name.html
When running away just isn't an option. Friday, June 18, 2010. The Great White North is calling my name. Our flight leaves at 11 am tomorrow morning. Am I excited? Well, exhausted is more like it. I hate, hate, hate packing. But I am really looking forward to seeing my Canadian family again and meeting my three-year-old niece in person for the first time. Super duper family reunion planned. It's going to be a zoo. Good stuff. I'll be back as soon as the jet lag wears off. Posted by christina @ 11:55 PM.
Mausi: a good day starts and ends with cake
http://justcallmemausi.blogspot.com/2011/05/good-day-starts-and-ends-with-cake.html
When running away just isn't an option. Wednesday, May 25, 2011. A good day starts and ends with cake. You know something's up when your husband serves you cake for breakfast. Your peonies are in full bloom. Your very best friend in Vancouver sends you nail polish that matches your petunias. Something old (like me) and something new). And then you suddenly remember that it's your birthday (48! And that you better go make some cake because that's the way they do things around these parts. Awww, you and Bl...

Shadow's Far-Out Corner of the Web: April 2008
http://internettreasuretrove.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Vegetarian Recipe of the Week. I decided to stick with one of my favourite recipes this week. Baba ghanouj can be used as a dip, but I find it also tastes great as a dressing for a pita or wrap. Baba ghanouj can generally be found in the supermarket, but this recipe (from Simply Recipes. Is much better - it leaves out the main ingredient found in supermarket baba ghanouj: mayonnaise. and really. who needs that junk? 2 globe eggplants (about 2 lbs). 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil.

A Canadian in Norway: Dam Beavers
http://acanadianinnorway.blogspot.com/2009/05/dam-beavers.html
A Canadian in Norway. Friday, May 29, 2009. A slow morning over latte and my eye caught by the Times headline ‘Landowners Fear the Beaver Invasion’. I mean really, who would fear a beaver invasion? Surely an occasion like this would be rejoiced! It appears that after a 400 year absence in Scotland, a pair of European beaver families are being introduced as part of a ‘Beaver Trial’. It’s no wonder the Scottish are so effin miserable. 400 years with no beaver! The beavers used in the trial were captured he...

Author-in-the-trenches: What 'skip day' means to me...
http://author-in-the-trenches.blogspot.com/2012/05/what-skip-day-means-to-me.html
Have faith. What is meant to be will always find a way. (Kobi Yamada). Monday, May 28, 2012. What 'skip day' means to me. When I was in high school, I didn't go to school on my birthday.unless it was raining. If the weather was crap, I would wait for it to change and then I'd skip a full day of school later in lieu of my birthday. Same thing if my birthday fell on a weekend - I'd choose a convenient day later in the month to make up for it. Tuesday, June 05, 2012. What a great idea! Sunday, June 10, 2012.

Shadow's Far-Out Corner of the Web: 2009 Has Arrived
http://internettreasuretrove.blogspot.com/2009/01/2009-has-arrived.html
Sunday, January 4, 2009. It's been more than awhile since I've posted and I think that's rather unacceptable. In my defence, my computer has been running slowly and my browser has been hardly running at all. Today I decided to blow a little steam and play around with " StumbleUpon. That was the last straw - I caved and installed the latest version of Firefox and updated to the latest version of StumbleUpon. and was left to wonder why I had not done this sooner! Inbox and function normally within Facebook.
