The Librarian Fonz

You know, like the ironically cool. Sunday, May 29, 2011. Oot and aboot for Doors Open. This weekend is Doors Open in Toronto. The weather is calling for thunderstorms today, so I went downtown to be a looky-loo yesterday. Although it was mostly overcast, the weather was great. Here's the photographic evidence from my comings and goings, as well as my playing around with some of the features in iPhoto. Inside the bar at the Gladstone Hotel. The front facade of the Drake Hotel. The Canada Life Building.

The Librarian Fonz: December 2009

http://www.librarianfonz.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

You know, like the ironically cool. Wednesday, December 30, 2009. A tale of two Christmases. Here I was in December 2008:. Wow, look a Tubbs O'Fun there. Now, the get up I'm sporting.it's a long story, but the picture was taken at a departmental Christmas party where we had to dress as various characters who would go on Family Feud. I'm not quite sure what I was going for. Categories: Life Goes On. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). About The Librarian Fonz. Will answer to many names. View my complete profile.

The Librarian Fonz: Well, Hollywood is always rebooting movie franchises...

http://www.librarianfonz.blogspot.com/2011/02/well-hollywood-is-always-rebooting.html

You know, like the ironically cool. Monday, February 14, 2011. Well, Hollywood is always rebooting movie franchises. Let's see if I can't do the same for this blog. Yes, it's been a while. I'm sure if you're reading this, you already know about most of the major wheelings and deelings that have occurred in the past seven month, let's call it "hiatus", yeah that's what we'll call it, so I don't need to rehash it here. And that's the end of that chapter. *Dusts hands in satisfaction*. For myself today....

The Librarian Fonz: Yes, I've spruced up the place

http://www.librarianfonz.blogspot.com/2011/03/yes-ive-spruced-up-place.html

You know, like the ironically cool. Saturday, March 05, 2011. Yes, I've spruced up the place. I was getting a little bored the old design and decided I needed a change, to help keep this blog going - sort of like in a relationship, when the partners try something different in order to spruce things up. So yeah baby I promise, this will be good for us. A new coat of paint, hang up some new pictures.what do you mean my Star Wars figures and Spiderman lunch box aren't coming into the new place?

http://skyblue-c.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html

Under the Sky Blue Sea. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. I love watching clouds, and especially clouds near sunset. Posted by C at 9:15 PM. Monday, August 29, 2005. Its been how long? WowI didn't realize that I hadn't blogged since my birthday! Where did August go? It feels like the past couple of weeks just flew by . I did keep thinking of things that I meant to write about on here, then just never got around to it. Ooops. After all that excitement, I still had a few more days of work left to go, then moving .

Under the Sky Blue Sea: Staying Connected 2008

http://skyblue-c.blogspot.com/2009/01/staying-connected-2008.html

Under the Sky Blue Sea. Saturday, January 03, 2009. Like Saf, I'm not sure where this year has gone by - it flew. Its been a good year for the most part, one in which I did many new things. I moved in November, which in and of itself isn't a new activity - but the location and roommate were new territory. I moved to Mississauga, and into Ian's townhouse, which was an exciting leap. :) Things are continuing to go wonderfully in that regard, I'm very happy in my new home (please come visit! We have a Wii!

http://skyblue-c.blogspot.com/2010/01/staying-connected-2009-year-in-review.html

Under the Sky Blue Sea. Sunday, January 03, 2010. Staying Connected 2009 - Year in Review. Here we are, at the end of another year already. And a decade since the ‘Millenium’ New Year’s Eve, which at the time was a REALLY BIG deal. Where were you on December 31, 1999? I was at a fancy ‘masquerade ball’ at the Oakville Yacht Club,. I was only there for a month before the Christmas break, and I’m not sure what to expect when I return on Monday, but overall I am much happier, and enjoying the new department...

Under the Sky Blue Sea. Monday, March 31, 2008. My friend Drew is challenging people to raise $2,000 for the Cancer Society in the month of April. He's been growing his hair for awhile now, and plans to donate it to be made into a wig, but if the goal is reached, he'll shave his head entirely! Which will look rather silly, but hey . all for a good cause. Check it out. Posted by C at 10:41 PM. At 4/01/2008 2:34 PM. I'm excited everyone has started to blog again. RRRAHH RRAHH! http://skyblue-c.blogspot.com/2007/11/communicate-any-way-you-can.html

Under the Sky Blue Sea. Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Communicate - Any Way You Can. I saw an amusing and amazing thing on the subway this evening. Moral of the story, never assume! While waiting for the subway, a man came along the platform with the assistance of a white cane. No big deal, people moved aside, and he easily got on the train when it arrived. He stood near the opposite doors, and next to him stood a woman, a friend of his, it seemed. Posted by C at 9:30 PM. View my complete profile.

To be honest, I was a subscriber of the "Reference is Dead" theory before I took the reference course this semester. Part of the reasons may be that I was not a person who would ask any question to any librarian in person in a library. Moreover, at least in China (and maybe partly in the US), the low usage of reference service in libraries is a fact. Maybe th...
