Raspoid Maunderings: Polite Perth

A collection of random thoughts about fascination with being an info-junkie; working in libraries; and the occasional struggle with puzzling out life, the universe and everything. Monday, June 17. I was late to work this morning because a train got stuck in the underground tunnel. Apparently it got stuck quite early this morning, as I spoke to one chap at 8:30am who claimed he had been stuck long enough to get some coffee from the Hay St Mall. It smelt like good coffee too. Thoughts on my explorations through life. Techxplorer’s Plugin Listicle. Warning. This post is over 12 months old. Content on the internet, especially technical content, ages very quickly. You are strongly urged to confirm the information technical content in this post before using it. Yesterday I wrote my first WordPress. Those plugins even became the topic of a chapter for a book. I recently came across this YouTube video from the RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People). And closed captioning would have been a plus as well. 2012 is the National Year of Reading. Out and about in. Laquo; Back to posts. Subscribe to...

#Octshowntell Week 1
http://www.sallysetsforth.com/index/-octshowntell-week-1
Posted by Sally Cummings on Monday, October 18, 2010 Under: Technology. First there was #blogeverydayofjune. Then there was #1pic1thoughtinAug. Now it's time for #Octshowntell. Octshowntell is a challenge to explore a variety of digital storytelling tools - one each week in October - and share the results on Twitter, using the #Octshowntell hashtag. As well as being great fun, it's a terrific idea to get to know these tools, and to consider how they can be used in both personal and professional contexts.

http://www.sallysetsforth.com/index/blabberize-3-june-
Posted by Sally Cummings on Sunday, June 3, 2012 Under: Technology. Last year my colleagues and I put together a fun library orientation program for students that involved treasure hunts, QR codes, animated videos and more. It was a great project to work on, and I've previously blogged about it HERE. As part of the online version of the treasure hunt, we used video clips that I created with an online tool called Blabberize. Here's one of the videos that we used in the treasure hunt:. http://ferallibrarytales.blogspot.com/2012/01/school-days-they-pass-so-quickly.html
Having reverted to the wild state, as from domestication.". Tuesday, January 31, 2012. School days, they pass so quickly. I remember waving my first child off to school for the first time and having a small weep on the way home in the car. I remember being apprehensive about how the day would go, how he would feel, be accepted and if he would accept readily the new group rules and dynamic. So my advice is buy lots of stationery, get them a new back pack every year, but let them choose it, help with the h...
