Life As We Know It....: December 2014

Saturday, December 13, 2014. The Art of Imitation. He's learned a lot this year, and he is making progress. I can't stop thinking about the struggles he's going to face as school gets metacognitively more difficult. with the new standards, this happens in 1st grade instead of 2nd or 3rd. I guess it's just something we will have to deal with as the time comes. Sunday, December 7, 2014. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Art of Imitation. Follow Me on Instagram. Enjoying the Small Things. Life As We Know It....: Six
http://www.lifeasweknowitaa.blogspot.com/2015/02/six.html
Monday, February 16, 2015. I hate that I've neglected this blog for so long. No real reason for it, except generally being busy, but that's a poor excuse. Hoping to be better. Last week, A and A turned six. Six.it just seems so much bigger than five! Sowithout further ado.the kids at six. Clearly I was just as excited to see the tail as she was. I knew my girl would love it. She's not sad. this is her "I'm about to pounce" face. So, they are six. They keep me busy, and tired a lot of the time, but th...
Life As We Know It....: July 2015

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. We haven't talked about it openly yet, but she knows. Amelia knows that her brother is a little bit different. I was very much looking forward to summer break with the kids this year. Being six now, they are more mature and communicative and interested in the world around them. Better able to understand things and follow directions. And I was right; this has been the easiest and most entertaining summer break I've had since having children. Are we going to get on New Circle Road?
Life As We Know It....: October 2014
http://www.lifeasweknowitaa.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 19, 2014. I need advice. Preferably not theoretical advice, but legitimate, "what would you do" kind of advice. Case in point: our weekly mall excursion. Yesterday, we went to the mall to do our chickensticks/elevator/escalator/Hollister combo. I've posted about it before, but Anderson loves to watch elevator videos. He has a favorite guy. So this is where my question comes in. What would do you do? Do I do what I've done up until this point and say nothing? Thursday, October 9, 2014.

The Hambrick Family: Mother of an Only Child
http://thehambricks.blogspot.com/2013/09/mother-of-only-child.html
September 2, 2013. Mother of an Only Child. After reading a friends blog post. Earlier today, I thought about how the world judges me, and subsequently, Emerson; for having/being an only child. I was going to post a comment on her blog, but changed my mind. Then it happened. Within the last hour I was judged by a perfect stranger on this very topic. I also know what most only children end up very successful adults. Why? I know that just because you have multiple children doesn't guarantee your kids will ...
The Hambrick Family: Summer Lovin', Happened So Fast
http://thehambricks.blogspot.com/2013/07/summer-lovin-happened-so-fast.html
July 27, 2013. Summer Lovin', Happened So Fast. So not only are those some awesome lyrics from. They are also how I feel about summer break. I LOVE summer! I love sweating by the pool, staying in bed until 9, and even not having to get dressed if I don't feel like it.This summer has seemed to go by at warp speed. I think they always go fast, but this one has been faster than others. I bought school supplies for someone other than myself this year. Feels wrong. Labels: Emersons Growing Up.
The Hambrick Family: Kindergarten Tales: Kelsey
http://thehambricks.blogspot.com/2013/08/kindergarten-tales-kelsey.html
August 20, 2013. Conversations with Emerson these days are funnier than ever! School gives him lots of new things to talk about at the dinner table. Me: Do you remember any new names from kids in your class? Side note: he's been telling us one or two new names every day). Emerson: There's one I like! Me: Oh, who's that? E: She has curly hair. Me: Oh, what color hair does she have? Is it brown, blonde or maybe red? E: It's like yours, but a little lighter. Me: So maybe more like your color?
The Hambrick Family: Disney: Day 1
http://thehambricks.blogspot.com/2013/07/disney-day-1.html
July 14, 2013. Our park tickets don't start until tomorrow, so we enjoyed an afternoon at our resort - Art of Animation. The resort is themed in The Lion King, Cars, The Little Mermaid, and Finding Nemo. It has been a wonderfully, relaxed day just checking out the resort and its three pools. We are resting up for the marathon of Disney parks over the next three days! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). It's the little things. Huston Farmhouse: half bath. Life As We Know It.

The Hambrick Family: Disney: Day 2
http://thehambricks.blogspot.com/2013/07/disney-day-2.html
July 15, 2013. We started the day off at Animal Kingdom with the Kilimanjaro Safari, where we got up close and personal with a white rhino. There were two that were hanging out in the road right in front of us! After the safari, we headed over to the Expedition Everest roller coaster. Emerson was a little freaked out by the backwards portion of this ride, but otherwise had a great time! Having fun on the safari! Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Hambrick Family: Disney: Day 3
http://thehambricks.blogspot.com/2013/07/disney-day-3.html
July 17, 2013. Day three could be called, The Day of Characters! We met MANY characters between Hollywood Studios and Epcot. We had lunch at Hollywood and Vine at HS with the characters from Disney Junior. It was fantastic! The characters all come to your table at some point throughout your meal and the food (buffet) was delicious! The characters not only sign autographs and take pictures, but they interact personally with each child. You have to pose with the green army man! It's the little things.
