Life at Luther: Greek, Part I

http://lifeatluther.blogspot.com/2011/02/greek-part-i.html

Sunday, February 13, 2011. Greek, Part I. So, four hours of Greek went surprisingly fast, leaving me now to think about next week’s class (the last class). I want to introduce some key grammatical concepts we didn’t cover yesterday, but that the students were asking about. One student told me he is interested in studying more on his own, so I think I will explain more about the tools for Bible study using Greek, and give resources so that they can keep learning. Life at Luther: Mid-Winter Convocation

http://lifeatluther.blogspot.com/2011/02/mid-winter-convocation.html

Friday, February 04, 2011. I made it to Convocation yesterday! I had some stuff to do in the Library, so I made a point to go to chapel while I was on campus. It was great to see the chapel full, although I felt a little out of place at first because I hardly saw any current Luther students there (but plenty of Norwegian sweaters, as promised! Life at Luther: Practical "Test"

http://lifeatluther.blogspot.com/2011/02/practical-test.html

Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Last night I had an interesting time at my Teaching Congregation. It was the second week of the Discover Jesus class, but the first week we had small group discussions after the teaching. This class consists largely of new believers or seekers, which made for a very raw and honest conversation. Why do I pray and nothing happens? Why does God seem so distant? What’s the deal with the Trinity? Am I really supposed to believe in a resurrection? So, I look forward to the next 12...

Life at Luther: Ministry Moments

http://lifeatluther.blogspot.com/2011/02/ministry-moments.html

Sunday, February 20, 2011. You never know when an experience that happens in ministry is going to come back and smack you right between the eyes. Following the first surgery, the man was recovering and it was going well. After about two weeks, his surgeon walked into the room. He recognized the doctor and reached out to shake his hand. That was it. As soon as he did this, he lost conciousness again, and that was the last I saw him. Posted by Scott Dalen at 10:54 PM. Life at Luther Bloggers. Hometown: Edi...

Life at Luther: Credibility

http://lifeatluther.blogspot.com/2011/02/credibility.html

Friday, February 25, 2011. I’ve had a couple of experiences lately that have made me reflect on where our credibility as church leaders comes from. Depending on the context, being in seminary might gain for us a certain degree of credibility. I have visited churches where people ask me all sorts of theological questions, assuming I have an answer. My voice was given a place of authority because of my education, whether this was deserved or not. Yet my education or the degree I will some day have cannot s...

Acts of the aase. Life on internship in syracuse, ny. Wurd] of the week. It's not really) about me. A few of the kids were new faces to me. One little girl absolutely hung on me saying “Can I come? I want to come! What’s it going to be like? Can you save me some food? I told her of course she could come, but from the conversation her and her sister were having, they were off to grandma’s house for the night. I assured her she could come the rest of the week, no problem. In my mind I’m thinking. You are c...

Acts of the aase. Life on internship in syracuse, ny. Wurd] of the week. It's not really) about me. A picture is worth…. This post is dedicated to all my Idaho friends. Last month I traveled to Palmyra, New York to watch a pageant put on by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I present this story of my experience to you in pictures, some moving, some not. Even the guys helping us to park our vehicles wore white shirts and ties! If only they had bike helmets. Beach Preacher: January 2010

http://amberincali.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 15, 2010. Again, a few weeks have passed since I last posted. I imagined I'd be a lot less busy once school ended in December, but that proved to be a dream. After a blizzard shut down nearly every road to Southwestern Minnesota on Christmas, Kevin and I crashed at the Bergeson's. For a few days. I finally got to give Kevin his present (that had been hiding in his parent's basement since Thanksgiving: a kayak! Much to my SHOCK I got a pair of Ugg. One more think checked off my list! A wee...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. This one is inspired by none other than Laura Aase. Charlie IV" (or maybe even V) made it to Romania. Actually Charlie and his twin fish went to greet the Romanian children and spend time being thrown around, playing games, teaching the story of Jesus and the 5,000, and making us all laugh. They loved the fish so much, we made them a part of the school's collection. Thanks for sharing, Laura! The question is where is our peşte. Patience, Patience, Patience. If I surrender to His W...

31 Maj, 2016 15:50.
