I wanted to be able to shoot my kids, my students, and landscape in my manual mode of my Nikon D5000. Who buys a ‘real’ camera to stay in auto mode? Composition: Where should a focal point be? Avoid dead-center to make a more interesting photograph. A ‘good’ photograph should not be symmetrical. Remember the ‘rule of thirds’. Does it tell part of the story?
