This world is not my home...: Squidgy in the "CHIM"
http://rshayton.blogspot.com/2015/02/squidgy-in-chim.html
This world is not my home. Monday, February 16, 2015. Squidgy in the "CHIM". I’ll never forget the day Squidgy and Titch became Hayton dogs. Their previous owner, Rob, dropped them off and no sooner had he left dust trails out the gate, than Nala our 2 yr old lab/bouvier started screeching “intruder alert” as she perched possessively on the front step of our home. What kind of ditch was this? Curious and assured that Squidgy was alive the boys and I joined in the rescue mission. Loved and loving companion.

This world is not my home...: The STRIKE
http://rshayton.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-strike.html
This world is not my home. Sunday, October 12, 2014. Please note that this is written for our friends and family. In choosing to share one of life's most painful experiences, I would appreciate your gracious, non-judgmental responses.)* * It's not a mission story most want to hear, but it's ours and it happened.* *. Hudson saw me reach for my apron and ran excitedly into the kitchen. “Mommy, I want to help, what are you making for supper? Did he have a complicated surgery today? Did a patient just die?

This world is not my home. Thursday, January 23, 2014. Part of The PRESS. Was our road finally getting fixed? And if it was, what was the sudden rush? 8220;President Dr Joyce Banda is coming to Malamulo! The Malawian President was coming to Malamulo to tour the hospital and cheer the sick patients on the wards. I splashed on makeup, donned a dress and combed my hair. Thoko, our boys and I started to walk to the hospital. Benson asked, “Will we see Army guys? The hospital was at attention. Doctors (in...

This world is not my home...: Demoted from the top bunk...
http://rshayton.blogspot.com/2015/06/demoted-from-top-bunk.html
This world is not my home. Friday, June 26, 2015. Demoted from the top bunk. I’m staring at the keyboard. I’m willing my fingers to tap on the keys. Just like I’ve been willing myself to keep breathing the last 48 hours…. I’ve heard all kinds of advice since the diagnosis. And been told, “be strong, don’t cry.” But I do cry and I do grieve, because our oldest child has been robbed of a carefree life. So what is Type 1 Diabetes? Why do we need insulin? The food that we eat is broken down into a sugar call...

This world is not my home...: Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
http://rshayton.blogspot.com/2015/01/post-exposure-prophylaxis-pep.html
This world is not my home. Friday, January 9, 2015. Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP). Yesterday Ryan came home with that look on his face again. That look that said, “things are uncertain…” and then he showed me his finger. A perfect slice, dried blood indicating a cm long cut on his pointer finger. How celebrated this injury would have been if done while hammering and sawing boards for a tree house, or cutting vegetables in the kitchen! Sometimes I’m not even sure how or if God protects us from the...

This world is not my home...: August 2014
http://rshayton.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
This world is not my home. Thursday, August 14, 2014. The 'Roaming' Big Franks. Imagine. it's a Sabbath morning, the hot dry air outside Jerry Daly's house reminds him he lives in the Inland Empire. A small dust swirl gathers outside and a rogue tumble weed rolls past his door. The air conditioner hums early and Jerry's tummy starts to rumble. Bewildered and slightly annoyed Jerry flicks on his TV, where 3ABN is broadcasting breaking news of "The Roaming Big Frank". Oh Jerry - can you believe I was SO cl...

This world is not my home...: August 2013
http://rshayton.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
This world is not my home. Friday, August 30, 2013. In just Two weeks the Maranatha team was able to completely re-roof 6 homes and patch and fix an additional 20! We are so happy with the work that was done and the manner in which the team carried out the job. The partnership between the team, the maintenance department and the Maranatha Malawian staff was excellent. All for the Glory of GOD! For all of you who were praying for this project, who donated $20-$10,000, we sincerely THANK YOU. A Life to Love.
