Life in dark rooms. Old (or old-ish) films a two-and-a-half-month update. April 12, 2010. A few random old* films that I saw in the past couple of months:. At some point in the dim and distant past (well, December) I saw David Lynch’s The Straight Story (1999). Due to particularly bad weather (yes, the snow back in January), I was unable to fly from Guernsey to the UK so I ended up taking an overnight ferry which wasn’t a very comfortable experience. Still on this ferry they showed Pixar’s Cars (2006).
